This is of course a really good thing, but I feel this is not enough. The browser has increasingly become universal platform. On the one hand, this means applications written for browsers are automatically cross platform. But this also make

The fear that Google Voice would be cancelled soon has always been in me. (There apps hadn't been updated for a long time). This news is a relief.

You define a variable the same way you would use it. int *a -> expression *a has type int. int *a[10] -> *a[_] has type int. int (*a)[10] -> (*a)[_] has type int. int (*a)(int, int) ->

Obviously we cannot modify this code base and then redistribute it. But what if we only distribute the patches? Would there still be legal issues?

I wasn't talking about this particular compiler. I meant "in theory, a compiler would be able to see".

I really feel like I'm going lengths in order to satisfy the compiler. The compiler should work for me, not the other way around. Why do I need to manually create a scope when the compiler can see that variable is never used again afte

The rail doesn't have to be profitable itself (which is a benefit of being state-owned). The more important thing is the bigger picture, is how much economic advantage it generates.

D does have zip, enumerate, cycle ( https://dlang.org/phobos/std_range.html ). It doesn't have a universal collect like Rust, but you can create arrays from ranges using array(). And if the target container/col

Strictly speaking, it needs to handle an infinite number of edge cases _in a very limited amount of time_ Machines might not be able to, humans definitely can't.

I got an idea. Current machine learning techniques should be advanced enough to detect trolls. What if we have a community that is completely moderated by an unsupervised AI? The good thing is that the AI can be completely open: how is it t

I wanted to say that whether a system is self-aware depends on how you interpret it. Then I realized this argument also works for "me". Under whose interpretation am I self-aware? Or does the mind come first?

Well I would agree that undefined behaviors are unavoidable. Indeed, if you insert checks into your code to completely rule out UB, that will have a huge impact on performance. On the other hand, I don't agree passing tests is enough.
