Ha, I actually thought the headline was really clever because "in deep water" is also an idiom for "in trouble", "doomed", etc. So I thought it was quite clever that the article means actual water, with a lot o

What the article calls CQRS is just read replication (Its still very valid, and common), its just not called CQRS, CQRS is about actually different data representations on query and read, and is an orthogonal concept to read replicas. sourc

I almost wonder if this has to do with the fact that you specialize in security. Because of the gray line a lot tech security specialist walk, its the de facto standard to run a background check and turn down an employee for even a sneeze o

Sorry to sound pedantic, Im just trying to make sure I understand correctly. A false positive would be domain doesn't exist but it has NS records, and a false negative would be does exist but doesn't have MX records. Is that right

Whats to follow is completely anecdotal. I had a job at a decent/high salary in an expensive city. I moved and took a pay cut, to about an average salary in a much cheaper city. I feel significantly "richer" then before. I t

this is already messed up though. Salary _does not equal the value you provide the company_. It represents the cost to extract the value. A quality senior engineer provides 3-7x the value of a junior, but only gets paid 30-40% more.

I actually built something almost exactly like this internally. This is awesome. But, its a far cry to call this an ORM. Its just a safe query serializer. ORM takes an object and writes the query for you.

actually, it kind of does. Technically, watching TV is a waste of time as well. But watching the latest show, i.e. Game of thrones, office, etc. Is not considered a waste of time, society almost sees it as a requirement.

I would delete my own images to clear up room on dockerhub, but they dont have an api to remove images. the only way is to manually click the x in the UI. So, in a lot of ways, docker forced us to "abuse" their service and store

i don't think pypy is a numba.jit "competitor". Most people I know who use it, use it for pure python things, typically web servers, and nothing to do with machine learning or data science.

This is exactly how I do my interviews. I have them "whiteboard" (or use a real computer) to wrote a very simple function, then I change requirements when they are almost done to see what they do.
