And here we have empirical (zeal) evidence that should make you reconsider calling someone a "dumb jock". Rugland calculated in his head what a PhD in Physics worked out on paper. We call it coordination. I look at it as another facet of in

D&B makes money selling their rating information, but while a DUNS number is free, you have to pay to manage your rating. I can't recall the exact wording but the salesman's phone pitch bordered on "Nice little business you got there. I

I think a lot of us need to admit that the author is right. I, for one, do generalize about Europe. I think of social democracies with high taxes. I think of arcane rules and regulations to start and run a business. And most of all, I limit

Attention is being paid to this story in the news world because the NYT has a model to sustain their business. With recent announcements that Newsweek is going out of print and the publishing arm of News Corp lost $2B in the last year, th

I read Hyperion a few months ago, and I only read to the end so that I wouldn't be left with that nagging feeling of leaving a book unfinished. Much like the Grammy's and the Emmy's, I've found that book awards may be a good indicator of

To put things in perspective, 200 years ago there were no photos in existence to paste onto walls. So what we're feeling is a cultural nostalgia for a very short period in humankind.
