You could be right, but I also wonder if option A, B, or C are great filters for weeding out those that are not ready/determined?

You make some great points, and I can't say that any of them are off-base. My comment is obviously filtered by my experiences in the industry, which might be unfair to the founders in question. However, my comment seems to have resonat

Ask for enough money to have say 3-6 months of resources, which would force them to figure out pricing/business economics before the money runs out, and forces them to invest in the idea as much as their backers do. First reaction for

Point blank - I'm tired of people abusing crowdfunding as some sort of money grab (Spike Lee's recent Kickstarter as an example) and because I'm involved in the industry, I have a vested interest in seeing crowdfunding, as an

Totally get it, but why not share some of the risk with your supporters and meet them halfway? Asking for a full (decent) salary for two people for a year places all of the risk on your supporters and makes you look uninspired. Edit: I can&

I'm in the crowdfunding business, so I feel strange saying this, but I'm really turned off by this model of 'pay us in advance for developing a product that hasn't been market tested or validated,' especially when a

They'll need to do something. I typically go to B&N to beef up my Amazon wishlist. So they're paying all of that overhead to send customers to another marketplace.

I disagree. Re-scaffolding is a pain in the arse, and if I'm not using something like Bootstrap, I'm using textexpander to re-use snippets, which in effect, is the same thing. Even if you don't like boostrap, I'd recomme

I downvoted you because your comment doesn't recognize the context of the article. It's not about being treated poorly, but making stupid decisions that lead to poor product.

Yes it's a beta product, but it's a beta product that costs about 2200 bucks and a day+ of time in order to get to a Glass pickup center. I just got mine, and I'm 50/50 on keeping it. I don't think anyone is faultin

Part of the reason I'm offering my opinion is because of the hero worship that happens on this site. Sometimes opinions aren't as balanced as I'd like them to be.
