It does parse the first row as the header, but it inserts it as the second row, and the first row becomes another header. It creates a green/white coloured pivot table -- do you also observe that?

I have ~100k mails in Thunderbird. The GUI always feels a bit sluggish: Sometimes spinners don't spin, reactions to clicks take ~500 ms, when I switch from Inbox to Calendar for the first time, I can see how the buttons in the top row

Even "From Text / CSV" sucks: It inserts an extra row at the top for its pivot table, with entries "Column1, Column2, ...". So if you export to CSV again, you now have 2 header rows. So Excel can't roundtrip CS

Not even Android has proper IPv6 support. You cannot manually set an IPv6 address or gateway for a WiFi, it's forced DHCP only. All of this works for IPv4.

I'm not sure I understand. I was talking about what it takes to search through a couple TB of logs. I said that with grep and Loki it's slow due to the linear search, and that indexing systems make it much faster (from many minute

Does "well-optimized JavaScript" mean "you can't use Objects"? In JavaScript, you can't even put 8M keys in a Hashmap; inserts take > 1 second per element: https://issues.chromium.org/issues&

I did not find this to be the case. I set up a mail server with NixOS 5 times in a row with 5 different Hetzner Cloud IPs and each of them arrived fine at Google.

It should not take engineering time to have a database compute full-text indices. In sensible systems, you do "CREATE INDEX" and done. To search multiple TBs of logs, you need a single 40 $/month server containing an 8 TB SSD

I think such a guide would be great. My perspective: A lot of people who operate servers (including me) just want to view and search their logs -- fast and convenient. Your tool provides that. They don't care about whether the backend

Loki works fine for what it does; the problem is what it lacks. It doesn't do full-text search indices. So if you just search for some word across all your logs (to find eg when a rare error happened), it is very slow (it runs the equi

How does this make sense? Any change the untrusted local staff could make to the server, they could also make to the KVM machine (e.g. turn it into a keylogger). Now you have the same problem but with a smaller computer. You cannot turn unt
