Hard disagree. We use both in my company. Google Chat is definitely better than Teams for actual collaboration: it's easier to track unread messages in "Home" (it's the "inbox"), and channels (called "spac

> Nerd: A language for LLMs, not humans Interesting take, because I think precisely the opposite. Coding agents let us produce a lot of code, code that we need to read and review. That means we need languages optimized for code generatio

I think the comparison between native apps and Electron apps is conflating two things: - Native apps integrate well with the native OS look and feel and native OS features. I'd say it's nice to have, but not a must have, especiall

I fully agree that most projects would work perfectly fine with a monolith and PostgreSQL. And yet they go with microservices, Redis, RabbitMQ, etc, making the system more complex and less available. SQLite would be perfect if it would allo

That's indeed a possible (and very resilient) solution. But that's a significant shift for many apps. I'm fan of event sourcing in theory, but I've always been afraid of it making things overly complex in practice, for r

That's a really good list. Thanks. I also miss type annotations not being reflected at runtime (like in Python). Would be great for things like schema validations at runtime. That said, I understand the challenges: that would require c

Considering that 1) Bun is written in Zig, 2) Zig has a strict no-AI policy [1], and 3) Bun has joined Claude, it seems that Bun and Zig are increasingly culturally apart. [1] https://ziglang.org/code-of-conduct/#strict

I've never seen a "normal" user not confused by the difference between Teams's teams and Teams's channels (where every "channel" belongs to a "team"). I'm pretty sure that's reason #1 w

Your blog posts (that I read a few weeks ago) and your comment here are the best explanations I've ever read on this topic. You're not just looking at the surface of the problem, but diving in the why it is like that, semantically

Full agree. Value types are underrated. That's one of the best things about C# and Go. They are increasing performance (with contiguous memory) and reducing GC pressure. I also believe that dynamically typed languages like Python would

The fact that the types are reflected at runtime is what makes FastAPI/Pydantic possible, letting us use Python types to define data models used for serialization, validation, and generating. In TypeScript, we have to use something lik

I learned about Luau via my 13 years old who is looking into Roblox Studio. That's how I ended up visiting luau.org and I'm quite impressed by Roblox's engineering on this.
