I don’t understand what the article is actually recommending. To avoid CORS requests, I usually proxy www.foobar.app/api to api.foobar.app, but it seems like the article is suggesting the opposite.

Quite an achievement to write an entire article about why Rust is the future without ever mentioning one of the main advantages of the type system which is data race freedom.

In a context similar to yours, I'd definitely use Zulip.

How many employees? What is the company doing? Is it mainly tech? Asking because people in my group were a bit disappointed by Zulip UI.

Very much agree: Zulip is fantastic, except for the UI (mostly the look & feel) which makes difficult to convince non-tech users to adopt Zulip instead of Slack.

Good for Quill’s team, but not great for competition in the team collaboration space. I’d really like to see Discourse and Zulip get a much better UI to compete more directly with Slack.

The big change is a shift towards declarative UI where the UI is a pure function of the state, avoiding mutations. That’s how React, Vue, Svelte and Flutter works for example. Very different from MFC on Windows or Gtk.

The team thought about that obviously and the answer is probably not: https://go.dev/blog/ismmkeynote

I really value being able to develop offline, without an Internet connection. That's the deal breaker for me regarding remote dev environments.

Is there a way do calculate this in Excel without using a Monte Carlo simulation?

If you start from scratch, then I see no reason for building both a REST and a GraphQL API (the latter wrapping the former). Just build one.

If the underlying data store is SQL capable, then dataloaders are just a hack trying to do what the SQL engine already does in much more efficient way. Much better to map the GraphQL query to proper SQL query avoiding the round trips.

We had the same issue. Setting the MTU to 1280, the IPv6 minimum MTU (we use IPv6), instead of using the default value, fixed the issue.

It used to be impossible to link to specific page in a SPA without using hashes in the URL, but this problem has been solved years ago, and all modern browsers support it.

What do you mean by classical ECS? I’ve always read that the Entity-Component-System approach originated in the gaming industry, completely unrelated to what you wrote about COM, etc.

I watched the video. Thanks for sharing. Powerful approach. But wondering how close it is from reality or not. Would be interested to know more.

Many of the problems mentioned in the article are solved by doing offline first with a native app instead of a PWA.

I so much agree with this. That's why our team is starting to use Discourse for Teams instead of email and Microsoft Teams. Structuring discussions per topic is key. Each discussion should have a title. That's how mailing lists, n

Not really. Python 3 introduced breaking changes requiring modification of your code base. That's absolutely not the case here for Go. You can still compile and run your code unchanged. You are also overestimating the magnitude of the

Any plans to go one step further towards memory safety (and even better data race freedom)? Maybe using ARC when the overhead is acceptable (like Swift), it static analysis is not possible due to the type system not supporting the concepts

Then what do you mean by work from home? For agricultural, I guess you mean work at the farm, which can also be the home? And for craft, the workshop and the home are together?

I remember reading that paper. This is amazing. But it's not really predicting what we're gone say beyond the current syllable: > While our model learns how to plausibly continue speech, this is only true on a short scale — it
