I missed it was just an example. That’s a fair concern otherwise. Thanks!

Why would one need vulnerability scanning on an immutable OS image? It can be done before deploying the image to the host machines.

I used to be in the stateless camp. But I think we pushed that argument too far. Stateless apps are not very useful. Most useful apps are stateful. What we are doing with promoting stateless services is just delegating the necessary statefu

Zig's take on comptime is quite new (which is the main point of the article being discussed). Error handling and async/await as well.

wasm is enough to do fancy things in the browser, games for example, with Rust or Zig. WASIX is not necessary for this.

> As far as I know, today, Rust is the only programming language (other than C) able to create efficient WebAssembly (wasm) libraries Zig is also a good option for that, but the language is still in development.

You're right. I read too fast. Coming from Go, I'm used to errors on unused local variables, and like that Zig does the same.

That’s also true of many management books, where what could have been communicated in 10 to 50 pages has been diluted in 200 pages. I kind of understand why authors and editors were doing that when all books were printed: a 200 pages book l

Great, but how large and heavy is the battery? The announcement doesn't say anything about the energy density.

Agreed. Yet, I think the one code base approach gives better results on desktop (Windows/macOS/Linux) than mobile. VS Code for example is quite nice. Do you think this is because there are more OS and UI differences between Androi

Are you saying that all the non-native mobile frameworks are abysmal because they have to map to JNI calls on Android and Objective-C/Swift on iOS?

I didn't know the state of Qt on mobile was so abysmal. Good to know.

It’s difficult and even probably impossible to just “add” those things to C, while keeping everything else as it is.

A significant difference is that goroutine stacks can grow, but also shrink, thus releasing memory after a temporary stack growth. Threads won’t do that.

I agree with you, but I think a majority of users are fine with being on one ecosystem, as long as it is convenient. iCloud Keychain works on Windows and Chrome using an extension provided by Apple. It is possible to login using passkeys on

I'm a bit skeptical about having one more solution in that space, considering that 1) password managers built in OSs and web browsers are becoming better and better (for example the new version of iCloud Keychain) and 2) passkeys are c

async/await doesn't entirely remove the need for mutexes and locks. We still need them if we have multiple coroutines using a shared resource across multiple yield points.
