So do humans. Time and again, KPIs have pressured humans (mostly with MBAs) to violate ethical constrains. Eg. the Waymo vs Uber case. Why is it a highlight only when the AI does it? The AI is trained on human input, after all.

I'm surprised no one talks about their overrated "engineering" section showing the chassis as if it's some piece of work from heaven, but in reality their welding quality is absolutely pathetic and even a 12 year old cou

BEAM has always been used in high-performance computing applications (Eg. WhatsApp) and Elixir pretty much is the modern Erlang alternative for BEAM, hope this helps.

Modern day tech journalism is just lazy, you browse a bunch of HN and reddit threads, if you're feeling it, ask ChatGPT for some stats to support your propaganda piece and hit publish. Fact check, spell check and everything else is don

As an engineer, I can never actually let a system write code on behalf of me with the level of complacency I've accumulated over the years. I always have opinionated design decisions, variable naming practices. It's memorable, rel

Honestly, Open AI isn't worth it. I cancelled my Open AI plan (and hopefully will delete my account soon once I export all my data out) because of philosophy differences. They shared they are evaluating a model where they can get a % o

The solution to this problem is not throwing everything at AI. To get good results from any AI model, you need an architect (human) instructing it from the top. And the logic behind this is that AI has been trained on millions of opinions o

They shot themselves in the foot a long time ago and never recovered from that, I guess. I remember back in 2012-13 they made some changes that ghosted their primary ICP - indie devs and startup owners. They made the platform incredibly exp

I can relate to this so much. When I was a newly joined Google consultant at a partner firm, we went to their office - some 13 different types of cuisines, different types of game rooms, lounges and what not. A luxury star hotel experience.

In my experience, most of the NodeJS shops do this. Because, LLMs on the surface seemingly are good at giving you a quick solution for JS code. Whether it's a real solution or patchwork is up for debate, but, for most mid-level to juni
