That's just moving goal posts. European people are still European even if they're not EU citizens. Compare New England averages to European Union averages if you want a fair assessment - you'll find that not only are New Engl

I am an immigrant from Albania. American bombs ended the Kosovo genocide. I have reasons to be grateful for this military and I can be upset and disappointed in it at the same time. I did not say America is wonderful. I don't know why

Living in America is by definition a privileged position. Largest military in the world guarantees either the country survives anything or the world undergoes nuclear Armageddon (and even then the tax man is still coming to your door).

Calling the Space Shuttle "mostly reusable" is laughable. It cost 1.5 billion dollars per launch [1] whereas a reused Falcon 9 costs 50 million to launch. [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_the_Sp

I guess I'll rephrase and say that they're probably not ending tomorrow, because of the historical precedent the Fed set when they bailed them out. What's a few hundred billion dollars between friends?

By definition anyone who is trying to get you to buy stock of any kind is trying to get you to believe in the benefits of stock holding over saving fiat currency, so I think it is fair to say people are evangelizing Etsy stock the same way

Agreed. I invested in Bitcoin in 2014. If you still don't see the inherent patterns in this market (extreme volatility rollercoaster) given the 8 years during which it's happened on a near monthly basis, you have no business telli

There are plenty of investors who believe dumping your money into a stable company like GM would be better than speculative startups like Tesla or Rivian...isn't this typical risk-averse advice? The status quo is that GM is a good inve

Does it matter? If investing in smart infrastructure is what it takes to recognize this reality, who is this a downside for? It's like saying we can't build any more intersections because we'd have to buy traffic lights.

Fundamentally such a thing has to be possible or else natural occurrences like mountains, waterfalls, cliffs etc. would not be possible since they would collapse on themselves. Steel is stronger than dirt after all.
