I think that quality developers are not a dime a dozen and that is why bigger start-ups poach, i.e. Facebook -> Google.

If things get really bad I'll probably try to get over to London or somewhere with a stronger currency. If things are just crappy, I'll stick it out, and dip into savings reserves if needed, while sticking with the current day job.

I'm not saying micro payments wont work, I'm simply saying when Google started there were not NEARLY as many internet users as today, so it's definitely A LOT easier to grow a user base/become profitable online now then it was before.

Maxmind has a free javascript one to detect cities and states...the cities are a little off but the state is always dead on. I can provide it later if you'd like?
