Boring. Can't we find something more interesting. How about subverting the requirements for voting for state legislatures so that the voting requirements for the house representatives are automatically changed and then senators were origina

Valid point as that is, I don't think thats what Godel was talking about. I am trying to work through tthe constitution. I think the source of dictatorial authority will be either Article 1 section 2 clause 1 and Article 2 section 1 clause

I would argue that it does. More abstract concepts often (and especially in this case) elucidate a concept with wider application. General relativity gives us insight into a possible model of our universe. Godel's incompleteness theorem giv

Interesting question: who was smarter, Einstien or Godel. Admittedly, Einstein is much better known but consider their insights: Einstein had the insight that acceleration and gravity were manifestations of the same phenomenae and could b

I wonder how many language designers explicitly thought about the goal of turing completeness or just had it happen as they added high level constructs like functions et al. Certainly turing completeness does not guarantee a nice language (

Actually, general malloc performance is horrible and that refcounting implimentation will be the absolute worst. In an accurate GC, the objects can be moved around in memory for more efficient allocation. Add support for generations and it

Now, with real-time GC systems comming to light and mature GC implementations in VMs like hotspot and conservative GC (boehm GC) for languages like C, I think the correct question is why not to use GC.

I personally prefer docbook SGML. Its much more forgiving when it comes to end tags which can be inferred. Also, sometimes the case insensitivity is nice.

Python tends to deemphasize types due to its reliance on ducktyping and type-inferencing. If you look in the documentation, they don't really care about the input types either. Would it be nicer to have more typing? IMHO, it really depends
