While you are correct, you are completely off topic and not really helping. Plus, it's not like HN needs another reminder of vim's infallibility.

To be fair, if you're going to lifehacker to help you set up github, you're probably not motivated enough to go tearing through github's faq. Quite frankly, you're probably not motivated enough to finish the lengthy tutorial they posted.

If there was ever an argument against broad software patents it's this. Also if there ever was an argument that the patent system is a money making sham, it's this. Prepending existing ideas with, "A computer-implemented method" does not ma

Why not just build an editor that works off git? Then you could abstract it from the user and leverage all the existing ways of sharing text like github and bitbucket. "But even as a developer it’s full of headaches." is also just plain

What this article leads me to think is that we need to legally protect the word placebo. It seems grossly misleading to use the word placebo to describe non biologically inert ingredients. To do so is to lie and nothing more.

To me the biggest threat to computing freedom is no longer your operating system vendor but "the cloud". Most people are just giving their data away to companies that can do whatever they want with it including delete it forever when they g

A trademark is a legal monopoly on a name. The issue isn't whether he worked hard or not, it's whether he deserves to have a legal monopoly on the use of the word "Gaymer". As much as you argue "he trademarked it plain and simple" these peo

This isn't really anything interesting unless you're a Dylan collector. No boundaries of copyright are being pushed, no new faces of record label greed are being shown, there's nothing to even talk about really. It's just a major label rele
