My guess is it's related to yield and/or large die sizes making them more susceptible to defects. I expect architectural changes in the Blackwell series matter more than performance improvements from process node.

Now I'm curious. What kind of team are you running that they are receiving Steam Decks? Was this a reward or is your teams work related to it?

I understand the physics of microwaves but haven't taken the time to understand when metal is dangerous — I tend to just always avoid it. Do you know of any resources that explain what scenarios belong in the "harmless" categ

"SoftBank, OpenAI, Oracle, and MGX" seems like quite the lineup. Two groups who are good at frivolously throwing away investment money because they have so much capital to deploy, there really isn't anything reasonable to do

Who/what is MGX? Google returns a few hits, none of which are clearly who is referred to here.

> "OpenAI will continue to increase its consumption of Azure as OpenAI continues its work with Microsoft" Not sure why, but the word choice of "consumption" feels like a reverse Freudian slip to me.

Admittedly to a fault, I tend to be quick to trust institutions and don't tend to be quick to believe conspiracies (not claiming that this is). With most of the additives to products that people seem to be worried about, I default to t

Thank you so much for doing this work. I expect many NLP projects and organizations are going to benefit from this, and I'm looking forward to all the models that will be derived from this. I'm already imagining the things I might

My outsider's understanding is Google is the only one whose custom silicon is the primary compute for their flagship foundation models. I didn't see any messaging about the Nova models being trained on Traininium (AWS), and Meta s

Maybe some of these tasks are arguably not aligned with the traditional applications of CV, but Segmentation and Edge detection are definitely computer vision in every definition I've come across - before and after NNs took over.

One of the massive benefits for Rust on Lambda is (as the author mentions) "extremely low start-up time, CPU usage and memory footprint". It's not clear to me if deploying Rust to Lambda via a docker image actually negates so
