Excuse the old crappy wordpress theme - I haven't blogged on that domain for 6 years... Just thought it was something fellow Hacker News readers would be interested in and chose somewhere to post it.

One other thing to consider - an app is often an easier thing for a third party to write. Only the original owner can modify the original website. (It's why I scratched my own itch and wrote AuctionSieve - I wanted an easy way to create a k

Because unfortunately there's no permalink to each month's tiobe report. So if you submit the link, it just adds a point to a story submitted 500 days ago. The newsworthiness of the subject is what's important.

That's interesting but I'm confident in JetBrains getting this kind of detail right. I don't have appCode in front of me but I'm sure they'll implement something to handle it. They go to great lengths to understand your entire codebase incl

I don't think most Xcode users know what they're missing. And unfortunately they still won't, just by looking at screenshots and perhaps firing this up and having a quick bash around. Some really good screencasts are needed to show what's p

That's fine. My point is, it's extremely uncommon to come across this kind of structure in Java-land. Typically, there'd be separate classes for these objects - so you'd end up with a Panel class with fields width, height, title, renderTo a
