Yeah, as a tool for improving coursework, it sounds great. Too easy to abuse, though :(

Your website is seen to reflect the quality & state of your product - by extension it _is_ your product. I realize all the negative feedback must be demoralizing, but humans are silly beasts who have knee-jerk reactions to most things,

Chip is a UI term (that widget is a chip, names styled as blocks in a To: field are chips, etc)

If you click the chip, it reveals the URL, too. May not be great, but it's not completely gone (which the article seems to indicate).

If you want a mostly pure DOM-based framework, take a look at Polymer, too ( http://www.polymer-project.org/ ). Web components seem to really embody what the article is driving at.

Shouldn't your comparison widget also have a pure CSS option? Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not seeing anything to back up the claims that this is more performant than pure CSS animations?

That's desirable for Amazon, too. This program gives them some control over when someone is likely to quit. I.e. not in the middle of a holiday rush.

This. Titles like that tend to be fluff, and frequently misleading. Feels like people are more concerned with up votes than quality of content. Dramatic titles always win.

That seems disingenuous for some people: programming can be a bobby, too. I'm guessing that you have a completely different reaction to someone who is telling their friends about their latest rock climbing exploits. (Scaled this massiv

Don't hire someone for their knowledge in a specific language! (Unless you're doing some very core work in that language) Hire someone who knows the concepts behind most languages, and can easily understand new ones.

You're missing the point. The value judgement for using a web rendering engine on your _closed_ system barely touches on "cross platform" benefits. The primary concern is whether or not the rendering engine saves you time an

As a dev, I view the GPL's primary motivation to be about _forcing_ downstream developers to "contribute back". The additional freedom for a user to tinker with that software is a byproduct that isn't very compelling. N

GPL is not the only open source license out there. I guarantee that practically every app you use incorporates open source code. Blocking GPL doesn't seem to have hampered the amount of open source code written for the platforms, eith

True, but iOS doesn't address the core reason behind widgets very well: users want a more relevant at-a-glance view of things. Notification center doesn't cut it.
