Very excited about the release. Schemas are something that ODBC connectors are doing already, although they are essentially normalising the collections into tables, sometimes looks ugly, but I suppose the aim's mostly to plug that into

Yes, unknown artists can't, but the point is that they are going 3 months without income. There have been many local one-hit-wonders in my country, make a decent album with one or two 'hit' singles, and never get enough money

Can't reply to mikeash below, but I also have a comment. I've burnt myself a few times where I committed something and pushed to my remote repo, only to realise that I shouldn't have. What I've taken from my errors is th

Unless the standard's changed in the years, we (South Africans) view Zimbabweans as having a very good education system, extending to math literacy. Perhaps that view might be biased as most of the Zimbabweans we would be exposed to (o

A number of people have said that Photos has grouped their photos by people, with Google saying that the feature can recognise faces over time ... I don't have that, and I want to try it. Anyone know a way of forcing it to show me Peop

Even if participants all have perfect information, I feel like you're forgetting something fundamental to instruments, at least primary instruments. If I buy an instrument, I'm expecting returns, I don't buy primarily to spec

I assume this is in reference to the article about Google opening up their corporate tools/services to their users on the Internet, but I've seen this MOMA login page (at least what I call it) before last year and probably before

Or for the interested, TileMill would be better as you can print exports in PDF as vectors. I spent a great deal of time trying to manually create transit maps for one of our 'archaic' transit agencies, and this was before Mapbox

Some proof? I live in South Africa, and last I checked I couldn't use Wallet. Was Google going to force Samsung to install Wallet on my phone? As far as I know, all the Google Apps that came with my phone are on someone else's pho

There's Android for that* * [I know I'm not being helpful, but I couldn't resist. Haven't tried doing that on my iPhone when I had one, but pretty easy to move stuff around on Android or other OS'es]

I'm a one-man show at the moment working on 3+ repositories on Bitbucket. I tried using JIRA for a few months late last year, and it wasn't a great experience or me, so I ended reverting back to using the Bitbucket issue tracker.

Yes, I agree there that we can conclude it's meant to be disposable. So are the wealthy elite then paying for the "Apple brand"? I ask this seeing that there's not that much gold on the watch itself to justify the price

One of the execs at a client I work for bought a nice expensive Breitling. One evening at a function I innocently asked him what the value of such an expensive watch was. He told me that the value of it is that it can last generations. Watc

I'm excited to see 3.0, but from what I've seen on JIRA, there might still be some issues with WiredTiger (fair considering how they moved from RocksDB to WT in a short period). Will be interesting to see if they'll close out

Even though he stopped being part of core, he has remained active in Node.js development. It's part of his job at StrongLoop I suppose. A fresh start with an open governance model at least should mean that most politics are set aside.

I was in Regina SK, Canada this time last year, and for a South African who'd only ever experienced ~-10 degrees C, it was a humbling experience. The coldest day when I was there was below -50C, and on one day I missed my bus and walke

Interesting, I was on 6.0-6.1, and unless I'm completely wrong, I went a month seeing an 'activate Stash to use this feature' button/link. If you've had epics before then, then I was probably doing something wrong.

Also like Bitbucket, and agree with the interface. They made things responsive a while ago, and there were lots of complaints about the 'create a README' decision as a space-waster, they haven't done anything about it since.

Seems logical and expected. I was wondering if MongoDB would have to pay some licencing fee to WT for using their technology in document level locking and compression. Works well for us Mongo users :)

I see it from a different angle. Google has invested in creating both Google News, and search in general. Yes, Google's business would sink if nobody allowed it to do snippets, but it's also not in their interest to do that. Let&#
