Any number whose digits sum up to a multiple of 3 (3,6,9) when summed until 1 digit remains; is a multiple of 3. Could this be something useful as a quick check for qualifying numbers? I don't have any Assembly knowledge, but I presume

I presume you get data from GTFS feeds. If so, it'd be more feasible to build a service that converts a 'poorly mapped' route into something better almost automatically. Manual involvement would be necessary to only correct d

That's good, because it means that your transit agency(ies) respect timing points. It's difficult to always know when the bus will pass a certain place, even with Bus Rapid Transit systems that have dedicated lanes. Timing points

Yes, it's not a bad thing. You get more accurate data (crucial for estimating fares for distance-based services). We're a team of 2 people at Moving Gauteng [0], and we maintain transit data of 7 and growing transit services. We h

I built a route finding algorithm in Node.JS for one of my projects. I also do some geofence checks, but I use a geo-index (Mongodb). Similar to other comments, the article is a bit lacking in detail. Regardless of language used, I would ha

Talking about Core 2 Duo, you remind me of my slow desktop that I haven't turned on in a few months. I have an S5. I can understand the move back to USB2 in S6 and above, and I don't know if USB3 is the cause, but my S5 battery go

Extracts are binary yes. If you're using a workbook without extracts embedded, you're working with an XML file. We do that most of the time. We only embed extracts when someone with a Tableau Reader license needs to use a dashboar

Interesting approach! How practical is it though? I can export a tbwx or whatever the extension is, so that those who need the dashboards can use Tableau Reader. I'm however wondering if such model would work for us. The one thing that

It's a bit ridiculous. We get global discounts, but even then we still end up concluding that it's expensive. We only have desktop and online licenses, server licenses are rooftop crazy.

It mostly depends on client needs. We had one project where I was thinking of going d3.js and wrap it around an Electron app. Our investment in R is still not at the level I'd want, we're mostly a SAS house ... Most of our clients

Nail on the head regarding either selling a lot cheap, or little at high price. They went for the latter as you mention. I manage software licenses at my employer, and have been put off the price of Tableau, and the inflexibility they have.

LinkedIn has had a recent trend of forcing a search result to their login page. Maybe a new privacy setting that people switch on? Every time I come across that page I discard what I was searching for, and move on. I can no longer remember

I have a few users on https://movinggauteng.co.za using web notifications for transit updates. I'm intentionally not sending many for now, because I'm still working on a way for commuters to choose when to get updates.

Well said! One of the issues that spawned io.js was the lack of keeping up with V8 changes. I was asking the same question of what happens when V8 does something MS don't follow? It'll be interesting to see in the future. Good thi

100 hours sounds hectic. The last time I worked long hours for 2 continuous weeks and weekends I nearly quit my job the following Monday. Some sleep and a day off work changed my mind. It sucks when you're in rescue mode on a project.

Many people get to that point, and I agree with other comments that it might be depression or just fatigue. I'm going back to work tomorrow, and I'm not looking forward to it because the project I'm on isn't going well.
