In the current open-source product, yes. But you can also simply use Sematic locally without any infrastructure (`$ sematic start`). In the coming months, we will provide a fully-hosted SaaS offering to save you the hassle of maintaining yo

That is very true. In our careers we have repeatedly incentivized users to exit Notebooks early on. Of course we understand why Notebooks are so appealing and useful, and we think they have their place in the toolbox (like a Python console

Indeed, Kubernetes is hardly "light" :D However, it's only required when running pipelines in the cloud. When running locally (`$ sematic start`), nothing else than Python is required. Regarding background, we are folks with

Absolutely. Software development has many nice CI/CD patterns to generate assets, test, deploy. It enables software engineers to work fast with a safety net and have all pipelines automated. I think ML development is where web developm

Thanks for your question! Yes, Sematic has a neat feature that can help: Dynamic Graphs. Because Sematic uses simple Python to declare the control and data flow of your graph, you can simply loop over configurations (in your case different

Most French people love La Vache qui Rit. They don't eat it as adults but it revives memories of their school trip lunches.

Maybe I should have mentioned I work in Europe (France). I guess it doesn't change any of your well laid out arguments but it was very refreshing to see how similar things are across the pond. Anyway, I quit today so I'm now up fo

I have worked for one year as a Product Manager and quit over strategic differences with management.

Thank you for your comment. I indeed intend to do that. However, I don't believe in patching up a magical business formula, hypnotising VCs and raising again every other year. I believe in small bootstrapped businesses that take years

That is true. I am emotionally involved. I could see this as a weakness but I actually take it as a strength. I am a product guy as well and I don't want to be a mercenary. That also means that things take a higher toll on me.

Haha thank you for your reply. I have tried freelance already and I didn't really like it. I would rather work in a team for a single company/project. You are correct about talking to others. Yet, even if I have been fairly well t

Thank you for your reply. I may indeed have been to long to show my concern. You are correct. However, in my mental process, I have tried many times to show empathy towards management, placing myself in their shoes and trying to realise the

Thank you for your reply. I am 30 and indeed, we seem to have different work expectations than our fathers. I am probably too easy to work with. I take care of loose ends, make it easy for people to achieve their goal, polish sharp corners

I'm not really talking about long hours. I've always been happy doing my 45/50h a week. I don't complain about that. Rather about transparency, clear vision and accountability.

I run http://releas.io . It generates download cards for physical music releases (typically vinyl). It yields around 400€ per month but I don't do any biz dev. I don't think it's a viable project (beyond a side-pro
