I believe it was near or in water, but not buried from what I recall of Fenn's comments about its location (he said it was 'wet'). He said the location he chose reminded him of a plateaued area with a waterfall that he found

I always figured it was somewhere near Agua Caliente Canyon, NM. Largely because it was in the right elevation, had the types of brush Fenn said he could smell there (which he later said he wish he had not commented on), was within a range

One of my family members worked for Star Theory during this time, and turned down job offers from Take Two in favor of loyalty, but it ended up biting them in the ass unfortunately. They did end up with a great job elsewhere, but still sad

This is the "Mary's Room" thought experiment which explores the nature of qualia. - The CPU analogy is a nice one though!

there was a young man who said "though it seems that I know that I know, what I'd like to see is the 'I' that knows me, when I know that I know that I know."

Using sudo in the exec() isn't really a problem, since any RCE an attacker would get will have the same privileges as the pihole service...they could just use sudo in their RCE if the user is in sudousers (assuming they could even use

The problem here is it is a cat and mouse game. Software algorithms that can detect deep fakes can also be used to patch detectable flaws in deep fakes to evade detection, at least until new detection approaches get better but the cycle rep

My siblings are 10+ years younger than me, and have very little technical savvy, despite holding advanced hard science degrees, whereas such things are of my profession. I think part of the difference was growing up in an era where I could

I just saw Runa speak at kawaiicon (kiwicon) in New Zealand, giving the keynote speech, and it was quite evident she not only knew what she was doing but applied it skillfully in the context of an internationally investigative journal. They

Maybe OP is talking about IPNS? Which is unfortunately quite slow... I had to fuss with my TXT entries in DNS a bit to speed things up to an acceptable level (and reference the site via IPFS instead of IPNS)

I remember at DefCon 20 Gen. Keith Alexander, the head of the NSA at the time, gave the keynote speech (largely about how we all share the same internet space so we should work together to keep things good for everyone) and the NSA had a re

Sure, discursive thinking is useful, but doing it as an unconscious habit is problematic. That's what meditation seeks to help address, for example, and cease the endless 'chatter in your skull'. Like, when you're thirst
