I love my pebble - it has changed the way I use the information available on my phone for the better. Below are some reasons I find it useful/fun and which onboard/Android app I use. (Builtin/Glance) Receiving text messages o

I think there is another element. I admit, that as a scientific researcher, I am exhausted with 'science' in the mainstream. We are bombarded by rubbish 'science' reporting, which when criticized, hides behind the banner

How does multi-device implementation work (for the layman). Are the messages only delivered to the 'logged in' clients? So if I am logged in on the desktop my message exchanges are also sent to the phone client? But any messages I

I've made a few 911 calls, but the last one was pretty surreal. My partner and I were walking past a high rise where people go to score and in front of us on the pavement we saw a man and a woman trying to wake up someone who seemed on

May I share with you two pieces advice my father gave that I take with me everywhere: - Never say no - always negotiate. - If you don't ask, the answer is no. The reaction you shared is not particularly business savvy. Business relatio

Well, bad comedy is still bad. Much like the naming of this idea. The term is already reserved for a subgroup that celebrates itself for being exclusionary, crass and insistently unreflective about its privilege in society.

This is the most interesting question. And failsafe. You couldn't rely on this, unless there was a way to ensure it is working or had a fixed lifespan. I believe the thermoelectric converter works by exploiting a temperature gradient,

A great solution already exists: pandoc. It allows people to generate the required markup from their favourite mark(down)up. Focusing on scientific academia, the workflow of data to paper is already solved with ipython+pandoc (ipython note

I am doing something wrong then. We bought mattresses in the 'mid-range' ($500-600) and the springs went in the centre in 1-1.5 years. The best one we have had has been a refurbished mattress from the local charity store for $100.

Bloody great idea. Just implemented it too. Adding a hostname and putting the log in a Dropbox directory means you can keep track across PCs easily.
