I agree. I think a good compromise would be to ensure that anything that was a simulation or rendering was very obviously labeled as such, so that there would be absolutely no doubt in the viewer's mind.

I'm not sure there is a way for an end-user to revert to a previous version once a firmware update has been successfully applied. If it wasn't successful, you could use the firmware restore CD that came with the box, or create the CD to do

Just revert back to the backup you took right before you did the upgrade. You DID do a backup, didn't you? You HAVE tested that your backups are working, by doing a complete recovery with them, right? Right? ;) My personal philosophy is t

When I did my training (Canadian Air Force, in the early 90's), we only had to go through controlled hypoxia training that allowed us to experience high altitude sickness, and therefore (hopefully) recognize the symptoms of it so we could r

I can imagine that they'd understandably work to get their own site/etc up and running first as the priority, as a manual "hack". After all, it's the main page everyone would be going to for information on what's going on. After that, comi

Unless you have intimate knowledge of their network topology, and know the specifics of where those pinged IP's live in that topology, and what routes were used to provide DNS results, you can't say that it wasn't a routing issue. "Routing"

Why would you say that? Large networks have a ton of routers in them, and even a lot of switches provide routing functionality. I don't know the details of the environment, but even in smaller systems I've worked on there is a fair bit of

Never mind when you start adding fault-tolerance and failover setups/configs to the mix. It gets really complex really fast, and even the slightest lapse in attention to extreme detail can be disastrous and a nightmare to troubleshoot. For

One thing that most people don't realize is that a lot of the major record companies are in fact more manufacturing and distribution companies than anything. Here in Canada, EMI produces and delivers, via physical distribution, a huge numbe

Does it MEAN that, or simply imply it? I don't think it means that there is a requirement to provide the most convenient method available. Cel phone service isn't even classified as an essential service. Never mind internet access. They d
