What a neat way to amass a corpus of reading comprehension data. They collected about a million news stories from CNN and Daily Mail. In addition to the news story, CNN and Daily Mail both provide a "key points" bullet list of sum

Cool. I'm still looking forward to when I can run TensorFlow on a Windows machine and harness my GPU. Right now I can only run TensorFlow in a Docker container in a VirtualBox Linux virtual machine running in Windows... so I guess ther

If Chronograf is a completely new product kudos to your team. I assumed it was a fork of Grafana because it looked and acted very, very similar to Grafana based on the 'Getting Started' docs of Chronograf. Just curious, what are s

I have been using InfluxDB (for throwing data into) and Grafana (for displaying pretty charts of that data). It's pretty great. I had no idea InfluxData forked Grafana and developed their own (currently closed-source) visualization too

If you're looking to update React Native apps on iOS in a similar fashion (without going through the Apple Store), AppHub[1][2] looks to be tackling this as well. Not affiliated, just saw it mentioned in one of the React Native PRs[3]

Kind of a nitpick, but that infographic shows that in 2014 Git was used by 33% of developers. Atlassian didn't say which source that came from, but I'm going to guess it came from a 2014 Eclipse Community Survey of 876 respondents

I wrote an article a few months ago summarizing where Git is in 2015 if anyone is curious[1]. Most developers at my company don't seem to want to learn a "new" SCM so we're stuck with SVN (or CVS for some projects). We r

Shouldn't we be rapid-prototyping our ideas? Isn't that what "hackers" do often? "Hack" something together and then iterate like mad, failing fast on bad ideas and moving forward with the good ones? I think a l

Bill Joy wrote about this back in 2000. The essay was titled 'Why the Future Doesn't Need Us' and offers a very (in my mind) depressing attitude of the future. One of his worries is that whatever positive things we can do wit
