2.11BSD still gets maintenance fixes when problems are found and of course you can trace a chain of descent for it all the way back to the first versions of Unix which were installed at Berkeley.

The biggest problem with it was simply that it primarily ended up in the hands of Western consumers and dev houses during the height of the FMV craze, the PC Engine CD did much better comparatively speaking because most of the things on it

Both Mega Drive Minis are handled by M2, so I would expect the emulation to be excellent based off of that (M2 has something of a reputation in gaming circles for producing extremely accurate emulation/ports with lots of quality of lif

Because they're deciding to try improving their driver API compatibility layer to import the Intel drivers directly from Linux instead of reverse engineering like OpenBSD is. Time will tell which approach is better in the long run.
