Maybe take a cursory look at any of the pages for any food/supplement? It quickly shows the breadth and depth of research that they've gathered. It's the only site I know with this kind of dedication to scientific evidence.

This is tragic. Examine.com is probably the best site I know with a focus on determining the science behind any food or supplement one might be interested in. They should be at the top of every Google search.

I don't really see what Russia or the US has to gain from designing new kinds of nuclear weapons. They already have the capability to wipe out whatever they're aiming at.

Funny. I preferentially read HN on my phone which has probably what looks like around a 80 char limit. It makes it really comfortable to read.

A lot of stores in Germany do something else, where they'll use the price per 100g for one brand and price per 1kg for another in order to make it just slightly harder to realize how expensive something is at a glance.

On the other hand, some of the best games I've ever played only came out in the past ten years (Dark Souls, Soma, Tacoma, Outer Wilds, Subnautica, Factorio). I don't feel gaming is worse off now - we have so much variety to choo

Do US railway crossings not have clear markings and raisable barriers? I find it hard to have sympathy for people who drive across railway crossing without actually looking at the road while driving a dangerous vehicle like a car.

I don't understand why it's okay for such an influential and powerful company to also control how 70% of users accesses the internet. Chrome needs to be spun off from Google.

Interesting mini-experiment. I feel like it's missing a step or two between 3 and 99. You might also do this with more than one app with similar activity and beginning sizes, and only measure the change from one increase.

Like I said, if they're actively selling a device in a certain place, they should be on the hook for it if the device hasn't been designed to cope with the environment of that place. Not sure what's gained by the second most

I'm not so sure. Seeing how popular and endemic Facebook, Google et al. are, I'd say consumers price privacy way too low for any significant amount of money to be made.

I'd say these people are out of touch. If sites aren't funded by advertising, that means people need to pay to access. See all the efforts to workaround paywalls because nobody wants to pay every single site that they visit $5 a m
