The issue is that you can't, or you risk your site being basically blacklisted from google. Especially if your a news site. Users have no control outside of not using google. If google were to provide a setting for the user to never se

I wouldn't necessarily tie net neutrality and this together, since NN supports them as much as us. Considering it most likely would be them footing the bill (or loosing traffic) without NN

I wish I could say I was surprised by this... but I am not. What I am really curious about, are any of these companies linked to Apple? Considering the very public stance they have been recently taking. The article does not specifically men

Thank you for linking to that page. As far as the trackers, is it really that surprising? Any news site advocating for privacy, while much of their business relies on tracking their users so they can keep them "engaged". Almost as

With the exception of the fact that this is going to sell clicks... Is this really news? I thought they confirmed this years ago? Same with Google and Apple...

"Millions of Facebook Records Found on Amazon Cloud Servers" was the original headline. That headline the first thing you would likely think is Facebook was using AWS and left some data open somewhere. It 100% implied Facebook was

One hell of a clickbait headline. Since it is more fallout from the previous data handling issues and not further screwups on Facebook's part. Not to downplay the issue... but its clearly written clickbait

I want to love and use duckduckgo as my primary search engine.... But every time I try I am disappointed by the results. Unfortunately I realize that is mostly because of the profile they have already built on me.

I use Feedly pro and the Reeder app on my iPhone for RSS now. Only because Feedly made migrating away from Google Reader super easy when that whole thing was happening. I stick with iCloud for my email, cloud stage, documents, and etc (with

I am still upset about that. That single service being shut down is what started me to distance myself from all google services except search when possible (including making the decision to actually pay for services when necessary)

You could argue that they would not be adding this feature if there were not enough people upset about the change to begin with. Yes they brought it along the lines of many other games (however that argument is how we got Battlefront 2'

For a loot box it is ok, but they still changed their business model completely and I know several people who are upset about it. Unless I am mistaken, they removed the ability to buy them outright (with cash, not with in game currency) out

I feel like blaming Fortnite for this is a stretch. When there has just been a noticeable decrease in quality of Blizzard games since they have merged. - Heroes tried to to cash in on the loot box craze and from what I have seen has been ve

I don't necessarily have an issue with people being able to choose. However I think there is an issue of actually understanding what is being done with your data. But still doesn't address that it isn't just your data that i

Nielson data is a very small very targeted piece of data. Nielson may be able to somewhat tell something about your family (so critically it is about a group of people instead of an individual person, which is a major difference). Consider

Is Amazon next? Microsoft? Who else would benefit from something like this, and have the ability to pull it off? I am hoping this gains more traction and Google and Facebook get very publicly shammed. However, I am curious if there is anyth
