Homestead is wonderful! I've been using it for years for Laravel development. Thanks!

I've purchased some Udemy courses during the $10 sales; some are very good, others ok. I'm actually working through a VueJS 2 course on Udemy right now.

I totally agree. My first tech job at a startup, around the time of the dotcom boom, was for an early streaming radio application that used Flash to deliver ads in a local desktop player. Flash was a simple, but empowering, tool. The ubiqui

Lots of news in the recruiting space today. Although Google Hire seems like more of a workflow application, I wonder if specialized recruiting platforms like Triplebyte might be at risk in the near future. With access to so much data throu

It depends a lot on the topic. For coding/tech, I find working through an "organized collection" of video tutorials by rewriting the code locally and taking notes along the way, works very well. It's time-consuming, but

"people use spreadsheets for just about everything" That is so true. I used to do consulting for small businesses and was amazed at how non-programmers used Excel to solve so many problems outside of finance and accounting. The CR

AdonisJS is definitely very close to Laravel. I'm not a big fan of the generator syntax, but I assume they will migrate to async/await with the Node v8 announcement.

This is exciting news! I'm a long-time LAMP developer (now mostly Laravel) and have been experimenting with NodeJS for an upcoming API project. As Javascript becomes a larger part of each new project, using one language throughout the

I agree with this point. One can view this is as an extension of the current trend towards platform/infrastructure outsourcing. If AI and ML are deemed essential to future apps, we should be just as comfortable consuming it via a PaaS

Looking forward to it. Are you planning to release an Educator's Guide? Also, are the Construct 2 docs/tutorials relevant for Construct 3? I never used v2, so I'm unable to compare. Thanks.

Ashley, Congratulations on such an ambitious release! I volunteer at a coding club for kids and Construct 3 seems like a perfect fit for the education market. We primarily work with Scratch, but are always looking for a good "next step

It's hard to keep growing a company as big as Apple. Maybe they need to spin-off the desktop division into a separate company that can innovate independently of their mobile devices.

It would be interesting to see if Medium pivots into a model similar to Spotify or similar streaming music services that charge a subscription and work out some sort of revenue split with writers/publications. However, they would still

I might give it a try, but on a slightly less intensive schedule--maybe one project every two months. It doesn't sound as catchy, but a bit more realistic. Best of luck with this initiative.

I would need to write up a bunch of new analogies for Haskell. I only recently started to make sense of functional Javascript and it's changed the way I think about code. Haskell is definitely on my own list of things to learn.
