Could applications such as PhoneGap be used to fill the void regarding audio on mobile devices? It's a shame that as the profits of app stores continue to rise, there is less motivation to promote and expand open standards.

I like the idea of making it easier for everyone to use labels and filters. I couldn't imagine using Gmail without custom filters -- especially for notifications. This should be very useful for those using Gmail. Is this available for Go

The end of the article makes a good point about the browser being the long term solution. However, does Apple have any incentive at this point to push browser-based games forward on the iPhone?

There is definitely quite a bit of Cobol around on mainframes powering many mission-critical applications. Replacement of these old systems generates huge revenues for companies like Oracle/Peoplesoft and SAP. Pascal was a great learning l

The article makes some excellent points with regards to not throwing out existing/working code and knowledge. There's quite a few good articles about the problems of full code rewrites. Regarding the "glue" reference, given the increasing

I find that the most useful frameworks provide conventions for structure and code organization along with pre-built libraries for most common functions (DRY). I avoid frameworks that make it overly difficult to deviate from these conventio

Very interesting library. I see some interesting use cases for photos and media browsing. It would be interesting to hear some other suggested use cases where this plugin can be applied over existing solutions.

Do you think the same would hold true for an annual pricing model? For example, moving from $999/year to $1,000 or $1,200 per year.

Check out the article on p. 476 ("Wireless of the Future"). There are some great quotes and very accurate given that they are from 1909. "It will soon be possible to transmit wireless messages all over the world ..."
