It comes down the needs of the employer. Since technology evolves so quickly, it's hard to find someone with many years experience in trendy languages. Experienced developers bring additional soft skills that are hard to quantify and hiri

Very cool. Reminds me a bit of RoboCode that was created a while back from IBM DeveloperWorks ( http://robocode.sourceforge.net/ ). This should be a fun way to practive JS.

"Whether it’s your Dropbox or your Mailbox, we want to find ways to simplify your life." Great tagline! Synergies are even present at the brand level. :)

RSS as a content discovery tool is very valuable, especially on mobile devices where sifting through bookmarks and downloading entire pages is nearly impossible. The Google Reader app for Android works so well that it earned a spot on my p

Chelsea is becoming quite a tech hub: Google, Apple and Microsoft, eBay and many start-ups. This is a great move by Google and a great way to test out urban wifi in a tech-savvy neighborhood.

Excellent! The NXT 2 set is wonderful for introducing robotics and programming concepts to students. I hope the programming interface and software in general is improved; the current version is very difficult to install on Macs. I switch

This article from HBR [November 2011] really highlights this issue http://blogs.hbr.org/cs/2011/11/the_trouble_with_bright_kids... . Here is the ensuing HN discussion: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3284169 .

I downloaded a few random icons in SVG format and noticed that Inkscape opens them exactly as they appear on the website, but Illustrator CS 6 does not maintain the proper stroke width.

Very nice set and great organization; reminds me a lot of The Noun Project. It would be great to see some more examples of other games/projects using these icons.

Haxe is very promising in the world of game development. I really like some of the off-soot projects such as Stencyl 3.

You can still download Edge for free since it is still in pre-release. It's sort of a cross between Adobe Flash Professional and After Effects. It definitely has some promise in the web animation front. It's worth a try as it will likely

This is a great approach. Many of the best in tech are outside of tech. You have to just think about your day-to-day activities and observe ways to improve things. That is where you usually find great opportunities.
