maybe it become so complex that it's hard to maintain so they seek the community to maintain it for them for free so they can focus on selling the OS it runs on. ;)

All the layers of more and more abstractions. What used to be a simple app with a few dependencies is now multi-team project requiring almost a virtual machine to run.

There is no cloud but other people's computers. Don't store personal data on other people's computers.

stop infecting the clean simple language with that complicated and confusing mess. Go program in C++ or Rust, please. If someone needs to generate something, they can use Go generate tools or simple old m4.

yes, but there are some companies which would pick up the old stuff and sell it for you, taking a part of money received from sale. Maybe something like this will become even more popular. They can also employ handicaped ppl.

I hate how they present is as "problem" they are trying to "solve". I don't have any of these problems and I use Github almost daily. Why someone always has to create artificial problems and re-design and re-invent

Be careful not to have vitamin D deficiency! I think that might have been one of things which contributed to my multiple sclerosis. I was sitting in front of pc most of the spring/summer, rarely spending time outside...

Flightradar24 has a nice interface and apps but it is CENSORED. Not all airplanes transmitting ADS-B are visible there. Fortunately there is https://www.adsbexchange.com which offers unfiltered data. You can set up a receiver so

Yes, good point! I also hate it with credit cards. I have my credit card stored in the keychain and some pages make it impossible to paste the credit card code. They expect me to type it digit by digit like an idi*t. That makes me avoid suc

iOS is not compatible with GPL license and that platform is horribly closed and people shouldn't use it for anything more serious than DRM content consumption. I tried to compile it with dev provisioning profile but gave up in the end,

Yes. It simply doesn't "solve" a particular "need or problem". It just tries to be a fancy modern alternative to tokens not really solving anything.

Why do you think it has to go skyrocket forever?! I am already really disgusted by how big applications are nowadays, how bloated, slow, memory-hungry and inefficient they are. Every saved MB counts.

Very good point, thanks for the writeup. Maybe JWTs are good for specific cases but as most people relally use DB for other stuff anyway, it doesn't really bring up any practical advantage. They are just "cool" and look cleve

Web shouldn't end up this way. Web was designed for sharing documents. Webs and webapps now are sluggish and take soooo much RAM. I have a pretty fast computer with 16GB RAM but running all these webapps with Megabytes of javascript is

I don't agree with most of it (except that VisualStudio is a really good product). Windows is a consumer platform for playing games and having fun at home. It is also very expensive in corporate/server space. I have seen backwards

That's true, except it is not common for a server to "die" every second day. It is not a problem to have uptimes in years. But due to updates it is reasonable to have a few minute downtime every few months. If you require 100

Why is the larger one better? i use email mainly over IMAP and can't see the better in using Gmail. Yes, you should prefer smaller email provider. We live in the cyberpunk world now, corporations are the ones with power.
