I believe we need new laws declaring that consumers can run whatever versions of software they want on devices they OWN. This applies to iPhones, Gaming consoles, and Teslas too. Companies must allow downgrades, and consumers must be able t

I see a nice niche market opening for devices that scramble this kind of spatial detection. Co-founders are welcome to contact me.

Meaningless vent with very little substance. White space issue: code needs to be well formatted. In Python, it can not be well formatted. Self: the author hasn’t heard of class or static methods, apparently. Explicit scoping is very welcome

You have a point. There are wind pollinated plants. It is not entirely clear though how effective the pollination would be for those plants without bees. But these crops do require bees. Coffee is one of them! Just saying. https:/

I love how society is ignoring the bluntness of the situation. If bees go down, we go down. Simple as such. All of our food supply depends on flowering plants. Without the workforce to distribute pollen, no seeds will grow. Without seeds, n

What if you pay for Netflix — because you want to support creators, — but you actually download stuff — because you also want to be able to watch it without hustle? Like Netflix 4K is not working on Linux. It’s just not. And it wasn’t worki

One more reason why I only use windows what it was built for: to run games. ^.^ No flames. But I mean this is really really rude, even from MS. Forced upgrades were very hard to kill, but eventually some dns and firewall tweaks in the rout

I think it’s pretty easy to defeat MS in court. We just need to bring the music industry into this! For example: Let’s train a network on Beatles music to generate new Beatles songs. I’m pretty sure music lawyers will find a way to prove th

I never liked (or even understood) the concept of a smart tv. “Do I want to replace my player hardware every time I get a new display?” The answer was a definite no. I ended up buying shiny new 65” 4K HDR Smart TV only because they didn’t s

I totally support PD in this crusade. I’ve supported a lot of their crowdfunded campaigns and own a lot of their stuff. All very well thought out products. I’m also very upset at people who are buying knockoff products. They are the reason

I went as far a building my own router out of an ARM box and denying all traffic going to known update servers. I’m now adding auto-detection of update-looking DNS lookups and denying those too. Ironically, I’m keeping the router’s software

I've authored many RPM packages, it's dead simple. Have a spec file, tar it, and run rpmbuild on it. I don't really know why this guy was freaking out. I also like the fact that transient dependency and repo handling is separ
