But Tailscale never sees the device keys, so what they obtain and log is, at best, metadata. They have no capacity to decrypt any Tailnet traffic. I'd be interested to know which competing services exist that DON'T do the exact sa

Actually, I think the switch to Dia was them providing certain potential buyers proof that they (as a dev team) could build a new browser with a completely different UI and mindset/intent quickly. Essentially just something to prove th

Arc was actually full of some really great ideas. There was plenty of nonsense, but their Air Traffic Control feature is still unmatched on other browsers. Multi-container/profile browsing is managed so poorly across other browsers. Di

Which makes the idea that a group like them could build their own OS from scratch all the more unattainable... That's the point I'm trying to make. At least if Google ever drops AOSP, it would be when it's still an intact OS

If the source is fully open (it is) than detecting and disabling backdoors is completely possible. Not to mention the fact that other OS projects face the same risks. If Google cuts development of AOSP in favor of some closed-source alterna

Is your alternative that someone should build a complete from-scratch alternative OS that can still be booted on the same hardware? For the time being, AOSP and Chromium are still open source, so why not piggy-back off of all that labor and

I think it's still a dominant strategy. Docker functions on the same ideology. VMWare switched to the same strategy with their Workstation Pro being free for non-commercial use, etc. Agreed on the licensing concerns. I hate seeing me

Enough high-potential Microsoft products died on the vine that it’ll take a serious and lasting change in corporate processes before I ever go back. I loved the thought that went into the Surface Book, but it was killed off for some half-as

This type of option exercise is extremely common in government contracts. I don’t think there’s much to read into on that front.

iPhone users perceive Android devices as poor. It’s naive and biased, but there’s at least some validity based on the fact that Android devices can cost anywhere from $100 for some basic model at Walmart to ~$2k for the bendy/foldies.

I’m a huge fan of the Miryoku layout/configuration. Structurally, you can use whatever standard base layer you want (I prefer Dvorak), but with quick access to modifier keys and additional layers. https://github.com/man
