USA is outpacing everyone. I guess you hear things but the data and reality don’t really reflect that. America has problems like everyone but a declining empire it is not.

Turning Point says he’s alive and in the hospital. https://x.com/tpointuk/status/1965864882731102215?s=46 Would be incredible if he pulled through. Looked fatal. Who knows if his spinal system was damaged as well.

Statistically it’s really not an issue. Most gun violence are suicides and gang violence. Yes it’s there and innocent people get shot on occasion but it’s not a big risk for most people.

Why, it’s like a 3 month consultancy thing not a full time role. I agree that locals should be hired for full time roles and that these guys went about it the wrong way, but previous administrations failed to enforce laws which created this

Indeed. Likely just a pragmatic thing here that’s always worked. Will likely end up with a new special kind of very short term visa to cover this sort of thing.

I’m guessing they were doing that or similar but doing more than is scoped for that. And everyone has probably been doing this for a long time for short term specialist tasks, so it’s industry practice now.

I’m guessing they were here on a business/consulting visa and doing more than that but it’s probably been de facto practice for years and hasn’t had issues. And I’m guessing the majority of them have skills in setting a factory up that

Google decision makers are obviously very smart people. Do decisions like this mean they acknowledge that net-zero is more a political ideal than an actually effective policy? After all, if they truly believed this was an existential issue

Tax code changes & interest rate changes have been unfavorable. Secondly “learn to code” and vastly lowered CS standards have churned out a lot of young developers that are unskilled, much like in the .com bust. Lastly AI which at best

I guess compare the fatality rate to the classic years that made the sport. Guys were literally risking their lives every race and drivers died regularly. It’s no doubt the cars were harder to manage and stressful to push to the limits.

Those countries are too disorganized to compete. It’s why we have to onshore the brains via H1B etc. China less so but unbelievably corrupt system. However LLM slop could, at least for awhile, level the field.
