Yeah fair enough, I just know that I could never get the internet to be useful. The email in my pocket was OK, but the Blackberry did it much better. The Apps were trying, but they just couldn't quite get there. I remember the whole frus

This is a joke, right? Having used three different models of the Palm Treo and the Wince Treo, I can assure you I was desperate to use the iPhone because it just worked. Sure the Treo exceeded the original iphone on many different feature

Agreed - I'm really happy about this. I have a home NAS solution that is a few TB and it's too expensive to store on S3. This is perfect to prevent the "house burned down" scenario on very large storage devices!

I had a quick skim through the marketing stuff and the FAQs and didn't see anywhere that actually details what the backend of this is. I'd be curious if they're actually using tape, older machines, Backblaze pods, etc. I guess if it's the

"your lifetime service will end on October 31, 2012" If you're writing that sentence and don't see a problem with it, there's no helping you. Look, many of us have been there and sold "free" things to early customers who become a pain late

I wrote a blog post asking for this to happen in the UK awhile back. http://peebs.org/free-business-idea-for-a-united-kingdom-sta... Glad to see it starting to happen in Europe!

I don't know why this is getting down voted. Stripe is close to my most hated company right now because they're not available in the UK :) It's really annoying.

Yeah, I'm convinced it's setup to scam users and there's a lot of click fraud happening. Wrote a post about it here: http://peebs.org/148437517

This is a really weird article. The solution is not to say "Services Suck" or "Monolithic yay!", it's to realise that you should start with a monolithic app built in a good framework, then see how your app's internals are used/accessed as y

I'm not sure if others have noticed, but Rackspace London is probably the worst host I've ever used in my entire life. I'm not sure if this is because they were acquired or what, but it's genuinely frightening how awful the service is and

Can anyone name a successful startup not also located within the valley, NYC, or Boston that started from one of these coworking or incubator spaces? Not being snarky, but it may come across that way. Just genuinely curious.

I love Heroku, but am I the only one that thinks their choice of words describing their architecture is a bit pretentious? "...streaming data API which connects the dyno manifold to the routing mesh." Give me a break!

It's definitely not a fool proof or airtight system, but it's going to be at least a little time consuming to figure out the mechanism. Sure, a concerted effort will still break it, but you can protect yourself a bit more from a "0-day" ha

Sorry PG, I have to really question you on this. Education, mentoring, and team building all happen better in smaller environments. Things like class size, team size, and time spent matter. Maybe what you mean is the actual time spent wit

This isn't how it works in the UK. Here, staff inputs the order details, etc. on the iphone which is in a special case with a chip & pin reader and a keypad on the back. You insert your card, turn the iphone over, and enter your pin o

You're making my point for me. It's just ridiculous that all those products exist, and now +1 more product we won't use. We use github, and yes I know not everyone uses git, but the integration there is just painful. Just to get anything

Yes precisely :) It's a major pain in everyone's ass. I don't have enough experience to know if this is only the case in Asian or 3rd World countries, but I wouldn't be surprised if the "in-person" requirement is dropped in Western Europe
