I don’t think it was meant that seriously. I read it as a humorous fiction written as if in the future, and I thought it was funny. Even speaking as a primate.

I just put an email address in my profile. You could set up a temporary one and add it if you’re hesitant to share your real email with the internet.

Calibre can convert HTML to ePub, which you can then use reader apps for. Those are much better at remembering your place.

Again, obviously. Tariffs were an economic precision instrument and the threat of them a form of soft power. Now they’re a bully’s spiked club. Which is the implication of my original comment had you applied some good faith and reading comp

Obviously. What's your point? Do you mean to tell me nothing changed in how the US tariffs their imports?

The world respected IP because the alternative was being tariffed. Now that we already are, the US can take it's IP laws and shove 'em for all I care.

The way I see it is either it will work (which I doubt, but whatever) and I'm out of a job, or it doesn't work and the economy comes crashing down harder than ever seen in history and I'm out of a job.

All these memes are burning through our natural reserves at an ever increasing rate so it will crumble when the bread baskets fail anyway.

Nothing at all if you ask me. I consider myself boring and lazy, and I’m content with that. Not unrelated (but not necessarily causally connected), I also consider myself extraordinarily lucky that I find myself in a time where my basic nee

As that IT person I’ve set up a few alternatives over the years (and they’re still up, certs and all). Matrix stuck with a decent group of people, but the group I hung out on Discord with refused to move. I definitively bailed after the ID

Headless daily driver? Hardcore. What do you use for a browser? I've tried it as a challenge for a couple of days (lynx, mutt, some other TUI stuff) and it made some things like Vim stick (although that may have as much to do with that

I'm not sure, it depends on what kind of work you're looking for. For the Netherlands, I'd start here. https://www.tech-careers.nl/job-seeker-visa-for-tech-roles-i...

Why wait? If you can get a work visa you might as well, independent of this push. English proficiency in France isn't amazing though (speaking as a Dutchman that visits France most summers), so learning French would be a big help.

Then reinstall with a later ISO and cripple it again. On the whole that's probably more reliable.

I have a Fiio M3K with Rockbox, it's great. My demands are not high though; I just want something light that I can put in my pocket, which shuffles a bunch of lofi music. It helps me tune my monkey brain out.

I have a few, and for managing and playing music the UX is absolute ass. Fine for dialing a number and occasionally switching to silent mode, but that's about it.

I drive one on Dutch roads, and a lot of the back roads (60km/h) are one lane with dotted lines on the side like here: [1] If you turn on TACC, it will constantly whine that you're hugging the side of 'your lane'. But it

I wonder if it's worth setting up a sort of sprinkler system so you can easily clean it by opening a valve. Maybe add a pipe with some holes in it to the top of the panel, and some flexible hose to hook it up to the next one.

Strange that in your comment history you're all about the democratization of technology, but you seem to be against solar of all things? Talk about decentralized power!

I was a bit tongue in cheek in my response. Yes, you're right that (almost famously) farm work is done by a disproportionate amount of illegals, but conflating those with immigrants as a default does injustice to the hardworking people

I understand that. Those are the facts. But I think it's doing harm to innocent people to conflate immigrants with illegals.
