This is very true in my experience as well. This is a key component for any good low/no code platform, process builders, workflow builders , process documentation and so on. And that is just one area. It makes tons of sense to buy/

UUV (Uncrewed Underwater Vehicle) is a meh acronym. CrewL(l)ess Underwater Boat would've given them CLUB or CUB!

Yes. For us these are exceptions rather than drivers of software delivery. External events are certainly hard dependencies, but more often than not, the deliverables are more marketing than software. That is, a proof of concept, something b

In my experience, estimates are the root cause of quality problems and expectation mismatches. No one treats them as estimates but as actual calendar times. I've been fortunate to steer my company towards simply prioritizing work and c

Agreed. We have a rich API to build complex pipelines, but a lot of times, users do simple mappings. So there is an API for that common use case, which has a much simpler syntax, but internally uses the rich API

This is very cool for troubleshooting in production. Testing/developing against a production copy is a no-no, if I'm hosting my customer's data.

Was there no difference in fragrance either? Saffron imparts a very distinct fragrance, more than taste. And that fragrance affects perceived taste. In larger quantities, it has a bitter-ish taste. I use it in rice puddings, greek yogurt (s

It goes beyond just joining postgres to hubspot and stripe even when humans are doing it. Typos in source systems, duplicative data, unwarranted prefixes, suffixes, stuff you don't care about, columns named c0,c1,c2 etc. A semantic lay

This is golden, and not just for reports. If you expose the change data stream as an API, many integrations become 10x simpler for your partners and customers. Providing a consistent definition for read-after-write (or search specifically)

Shameless plug on https://syncari.com . I'm a founder and this is part of our thesis as. A single data, control and analytics plane for all systems (CRM, internal systems, marketing, support, product usage and billing)

Congratulations on the launch. I have not seen the product, but please treat contacts, accounts and opportunities as very first class if you don't do it already. Also, make change data capture easier. This will go a long way in doing c

+1 for this. This is also a reason why vertical CRMs (ironically many built on force.com), though niche, are successful. New players will look like CRUD apps with the horizontal platform approach, and will have a hard time unseating existin

While the boundaries continues to fade, what you described is generally called a Marketing Automation system. Hubspot is becoming more CRM now, but its roots were and still are Marketing Automation.

That's a good idea and we considered FDW (for this and more stuff), but having a middleware makes it more flexible - FDW has limitations around pushdown with subselects, we are still constrained to a single postgresql instance for exec

That's interesting. I'm looking to do something similar, but need wire compatibility with postgresql. This allows any postgres client to talk to our service. Didn't have a lot of luck finding a good "middleware"

Taking 100 steps after a meal is a common saying in India as well. The saying also advises sleep on ones left side for good health. Goes like this in Kannada - "Undu nooradi nadedu, edamaggulagi malagidare vaidyana bhandatavilla sarvaj

+1 for this. Most of the time, all that matter in terms of performance is user's tolerance. Once that is reached, operational complexity becomes a lot more important. We use raw Postgres for analytics, knowing that projects like these

Cheap bottled wate has an odd after taste and high end ones taste like normal tap water. No hint of tropical forest or alpine ice at least for me.
