Adding one more to that list-- you can host different domains on different ports (but your load balancer will need to for example direct :443 to :8443). This is common practice for people that use Amazon's ELB, for example.

This still has a long way to go before it is a threat to Scalr / Right Scale, but as it matures, that is definitely going to happen. Where companies like Scalr and Right Scale add value is the ability to deploy your cloud across multiple pr

I have a Jekyll blog that I host on S3 and CloudFront, with DNS hosted on Route 53. Anything more than that is overkill (and possibly a waste of money). Heck, even the CloudFront bit is not necessary.
