They pay the investment into your company, you pay out what you need. They don't monitor expenses etc. Visa wise most people I know travel on an ESTA (visa waiver, 3 months) or get a B1 if needing to stay for longer than 3 months.

Does it make it the wrong thing to do? I've never seen anyone so mad at someone for their technical decisions. Redin/Zillow et al won't show you cap rates.

Sadly upzoning those areas still won't be enough housing. And some areas (like piers along the Embarcadero) the neighbourhoods like Telegraph Hill viciously oppose them too. I don't think the "neighbourhood character" te

Funny - tried to buy one at Melbourne Airport a long time ago on way back to SF and was told "we don't sell them here because they're region-locked". Good to know that's a myth! Was willing to deal with power adapte

I’ve been thinking about this lately and I think the challenge is that your competitors in sales calls can reference and undercut your public pricing easily. This assumes your customer segment shops around and are price sensitive.

Paying off student loans, medical bills, emergency car repairs... basically anything that might deplete an emergency fund or where you might have dipped into this on the assumption your job wasn’t about to be made redundant.

> Funny how everyone talks like Mashable lost to Techcrunch. Look up how much TC got acquired for, it's actually less than what Mashable got acquired for. Mashable raised $46m and sold for ~$50m. It was a fire sale. TechCrunch sold

The YIMBYs have been trying to reduce regulation for a long time at the local government level. Unfortunately entrenched players don’t want to build more housing. In response the YIMBYs have taken it to the State level to enact a regulation

Maybe? It's all about tradeoffs. I could see why you would want to figure out how much value the MVP is creating, and $$$ is an honest way to do that. It sounds like two things are happening with the MVP: - emphasis on more complicated

Hiring for marketing is incredibly tough. I’ve yet to work with a marketer I would recommend. Re your situation I’m not sure there is much you can or should do with $300. It’s too small an amount to make a dent in any paid channels for sure

Pumped for these guys. I had a few different interactions with them in very small capacities over the years and they were always humble, genuine and supportive of the different projects/businesses. Just nice, smart, unpretentious guys.

Also you're assuming that by not getting employers to pay for healthcare as the US has it today, that wait times will somehow be reduced...

I tried to find some good data around surgery wait times by OECD countries but couldn't find much except it seems that Canada + UK + US have bad wait times compared to other OECD countries. Does double healthcare cost = less wait times

This is why the US system is broken. Wind the clock back 70 ish years and stop this and you'll likely end up with the same system as other developed countries like the U.K. Or Australia.
