Check out CodeBook, it’s not open source but it’s a 1-time fee for device type (windows, Mac, iPhone, android), up to five installs. I’ve purchased for phone, MacBook, and windows pc and been using for the past 5+ years and am satisfied wit

This can be problematic when working on a project where updating the version of rust is difficult, limiting what libraries can be used - or ci/cd where devs may not have direct control of the environment. It’s less of a language compat

Did google cite patents as one of the reasons they removed support initially? I thought it was all around lack of benefits and difficulty of maintenance.

By what means? The only ways I would expect are either unconditionally duplicating the array or mutex, and I don’t think the mutex wouldn’t be simple. Adding a sync block on the input could be done but that’s assuming nothing else is locked

Coming back to this the answer is probably not strictly about concurrency and so there is a possibility something would need addressed about this.

My thinking is the same. I doubt this is an oversight. Making the String constructor thread-safe would likely slow things significantly. Great point about things being assumed not thread-safe. The JDK is pretty thorough with documenting thr

Lots of metadata about the image scan. Patient name/id, etc. and often physics related to the image scan such as the voxel size, units, properties of the imaging equipment, etc. DICOM is also used for other data that isn’t directly rel

Thanks for linking all these references! I’m also new to a lot of these topics but recently read Rust Atomics and Locks which has helped my understanding quite a bit - at least keeping me above water reading all the discussion in this post.

On Firefox I use ScrollAnywhere extension which I configure to use right-down drag to scroll large amounts with little movement. Helps tremendously with lengthy pages and I miss being able to use it in code editors.

Essentially yes, assuming MedGPT is marketed to clinicians as being a tool they can use for diagnosis/treatment. The process is pretty involved, but to add some clarification - the "indications for use" or "expected use

No because google is not marketing their service for medical use. The doctor is responsible for the diagnosis/prescription, which they’re allowed to use any tool they deem necessary. Medical devices are marketed for specific medical us

Codebook might be suitable. You can sync to Dropbox or google drive, or instead only sync between devices on the lan. https://www.zetetic.net/codebook/

Could you give an example? Most of the arguments in the post seemed to be focused on long-term maintenance. It does put a lot of faith in the upstream allowing contributions and making good decisions, especially when viewed through the lens

+1 for Codebook. I’ve been using it for ~5 years and haven’t had an issue, I feel secure in managing where my vault is stored and haven’t had issues with syncing. It’s a one-time fee per device type - I paid for iOS, macOS, and Windows with

I've worked with Mercurial repos for 10+ years and only recently we've been migrating some of the smaller repos to Git primarily due to better supported tooling. Mercurial has done a great job in specific workflows especially with

I love mercurial’s solution of having phases for commits. Anything you created locally is Draft phase and can be mutated without “force”. Anything which was pulled or pushed is automatically marked as Public and is not easily mutated. Visua
