Doesn't it feel good in a similar way that scratching an itch does in that its more a temporary relief from suffering instead of feeling good all the time?

Thanks for the thoughtful comment. I'm lucky that at my current job none of us smoke and still regularly take quick walks outside of the office. I guess it helps that every room has a door that goes directly outside.

No, with open source you have the choice to do or pay someone for the work. With closed source you get what the devs give you.

It does actually work fairly well for non gaming uses.

The proprietary version is "if you don't like it, learn to like it."

Its slightly better in South Australia. If the game sells out then the broadcast is live but if it does not it is delayed by adverts in between

Android does that too now but many apps will just refuse to work until you accept.

This is why I am learning tech stuff at light speed but music theory is painfully slow. I have experts everywhere at work who can point me in the right direction and give feedback but when learning stuff totally on my own it can be hard to

This is exactly the same as bitcoin and addresses but in reverse. Also a lot less secure

Credit cards have addresses and they aren't online. Simply knowing the number on a card is sufficient to withdraw from it.

If you cared about privacy and security why would you buy the latest iPhone when you could get one from 2 years ago for a much reduced cost.

I wasn't aware that there was any way to skip the basic stuff.

Why do these people even go to uni when its such a waste of time. I went to uni for a year and learned absolutely nothing because it was all so incredibly basic that its only useful if you don't know how to learn on your own.

How does https stop this? I understand many websites will redirect before loading a link to clear the referrer data which is a good thing since the referrer header has been abused far too much. I imagine originally its intent was for websit

Its a lot less scary than it looks and I found it to be much much easier to use than freecad. My workflow on freecad was basically just typing numbers in to the properties panel for shapes so why not just do the same thing but as a text fil

I don't think I have ever found the reviews on google play to be useful. I switched to fdroid which has no review or rating system and I dont miss it a bit. I find its usually easier to just open the app and see if it works.

Netflix only needs apple for distribution because apple has locked down the system so much that you are forced to go through them. Apple has added very little value and we had better systems before where you could just visit a URL and view

Malls are hated because they create car dependence. They kill off all local stores and require you to drive for 30 minutes to get to a shop. They also take up massive amounts of space for parking.

Its really disappointing how telsla is pushing a proprietary charging plug when open charging standards exist and are supported by Tesla cars. They should be forced to use standerdized chargers like how phones are required to charge with US

Agreed. If you are driving in an area where there are bikes or pedestrians around you should slow to about 30km/h.

Its pretty much impossible to do frontend dev without bringing on the whole modern js bundle. As soon as you want to use any js library you have to set up npm, yarn and webpack before you can even get it working.
