How many people are digging into and contributing to any python tooling? How is C meaningfully more accessible than rust? Plenty of people (yet also a significant minority overall) write each of them. > Is there anything being done in uv

What, exactly, is your objection to using rust (or any non-python/C language) for python tooling? You didn't actually give any reasons

I've been happily using it for a long time, and rye before that. Just today I set it up on 20 PCs in a computer lab that doesn't have internet, along with vs code and some main packages. Just downloaded the files, made a powershel

I didn't get LLM vibes at all. But I completely agree with you. She sounds like a cougar. And, worse, apparently has no ability for introspection - for herself or her collective gender. I'm not saying that she or women are "t

Why approach a 22 yr old though when you are 39? Nothing about that makes any sense. He could literally be her father.

Also, note that the original intent of the iPhone was to enable PWAs - Steve Jobs basically coined the phrase! Then they abandonned that and have held back browser development for 15+ years, to keep people making native apps that they can e

But Accessibility is not the issue being discussed... Though js frameworks are generally FAR worse for accessibility than ssr html, for lots of reasons.

As many others have said, this is silly. I just use hyphens as em-dashes, but their use does not mean that something is AI.

I didn't get an AI vibe from this at all, and I'd consider my radar to be pretty finely tuned for and allergic to such things. What stands out most to you?

Indeed, might as well use Go if you're going to use TypeScript. Or ruby on rails, laravel, elixir or even WordPress, if you want things that are batteries included (which js frameworks or go still most definitely are not)

Would it be a good thing if a million unemployed devs were employed to just dig a big hole? Or, worse, cut down forests with axes? Job creation for the sake of it isn't a good thing. What matters is whether it creates actual value, and

Why is good performance surprising for WordPress? It's just html, and I assume it is fully cached since it's not a site that has login, dynamic stuff (that's when WordPress becomes a big problem, but can be surmounted).

The difference is whether js is in the critical render path. With ssr html, it doesn't need to be. It's just a sprinkling on top.

I wholeheartedly agree. It wasn't until my late 20s that I realized that literature is actually a deep reflection of real life, rather than just some story that someone made up. eg Animal Farm is not about farm animals... Surely it was

What in the Ayn Rand are you talking about? Are you really unable to distinguish the difference in value between, say, funding infrastructure maintenance - or 1000 other things - and just filling some crony's pockets?

what reality are you living in, friend? Mismanagement and grift has been the way of the government - and particularly the military - forever. No one here is excusing anything, but rather just stating how things are. And if you think that th

Folks should check out Manticoresearch. It evolved out of Sphinx search, which is older than Lucene and powers things like Craigslist. Much easier to deal with and faster than elastic https://manticoresearch.com/
