People - Canadians included - have literally been sent to a gulag at the border crossing, for social media posts and otherwise. Can you really not see why that would cause someone to not want to enter? Moreover, he literally said he continu

One of their primary gripes seems to be that coding via AI is not deterministic - what you get is somewhat up to chance. But how is this any different from delegating to someone else? They're not going to produce precisely what you tol

This is one of the only sensible comments in this entire thread. Just go wander, talk to and observe people, etc... I've traveled extensively and all of my best experiences are from this sort of thing.

To clarify, you're saying we should be jumping through convoluted hoops - full page navigation + js to rewrite history, all so that you can avoid a very minimal amount of js to show/hide a nav menu - for low intent people who are

A normal person would immediately think "dang, page didn't load before I entered the tunnel. Guess I'll wait til I'm out again and refresh". And if they're deliberately going somewhwre where there's no sig

I'm not at all against using some js for the menu, but a native dialog or popover is definitely a nice idea here.

When I first saw the title, I thought "great! Someone else has (re)discovered hypermedia". But they have gone in a completely bewildering direction. Rather than swap/morph html fragments in, they're doing full page navig

The person I was defending NEVER suggested that extra burden should be put on anyone. Just that there ought to be some system (even if imperfect)to make it easy for everyone (or, if not everyone, at least a select group - eg the main distro

Fwiw, I'm completely with you on this. The folks you're communicating with seem utterly miserable, and don't seem to be communicating in good faith. Not sure what the solution could/should be, but surely there could be a

I should say that the OP didn't actually scream LLM to me. I was just making a general reply to the parent comment's statement about LLM writing. I should have made that clear. I, too, would be curious what they found so obviously

Is there a meaningful market for them though? Do people actually appreciate them? Or is it just like LinkedIn slop (which I can only imagine has gotten immeasurably worse post-llm), which any half-thinking person disregards completely? I su

Being able to write well is arguably one of the most important things any person can ever learn, as you can't write well without thinking well. So, I immediately write-off anyone who produces their writing with LLMs, as it is quite app

I'm curious, what causes the rails header to be so slow? They have a pretty good fragment caching story, don't they?

I just did it in the past few days. Soak overnight in any container you want. Drain. Rinse it a couple times a day until sprouts form. Maybe a few days. I usually wait a few more so the sprouts are a few cm/one inch long.

There's a study that'll say pretty much anything. That's not my point though. Just that most people talking that get enthused about any of this are drug addicts who refuse to recognize it.

Look up Moka Pot Voodoo on YouTube. It'll sort you out. Americano means nothing - its just diluted strong coffee (eg espresso, moka pot). You probably need to learn how much actual coffee your body can handle. I handle very little, so

Get yourself a moka pot, aeropress or French press. Fantastic coffee for very cheap. Highly unlikely that 2-3 times a week will last though - either religiously stick to once a week or be open to drinking it daily.
