Who remembers IceZmodem? A backwards compatible protocol that allowed you to play Tetris or listen to .MOD files while downloading... and if you were downloading from an IceZmodem capable host, you'd even get increased download speeds!

What I recall reading over the last year is that: - phonelines can be hijacked (this article) - DNS can be hijacked in a similar manner - SMS can be hijacked (for 2FA via text message) I guess 2FA using an authenticator app is the way to go

Curious, do you use a password wallet/manager application, and if so how do you get passwords out of it and into the browser? I'd like to know if there's a better solution. (I use a browser extension.)

I am not sure that I agree. It's hard for me to say where the responsibility for disclosure lies, but if I was Mozilla I'd need to find a good reason not to disclose such a vulnerability to the project owner/development team.

I can't help but think that he's right though. Not explicitly but implicitly. By keeping the vulnerability from the dev team they're allowing it to stay out in the wild. No? Edit: It may be that this is only an issue inside o

Did you see how close the guys hands were to gripping the steering wheel? Obvious he didn't trust it completely :) Still, very cool. And the presence of cameras everywhere should help navigate insurance/accident stuff everywhere,

I was going originally going to post how happy I was with the Wikipedia way of one source of truth and how I really like that system, but the fact is I don't know enough about the subject to say it's the best way. I do agree with

Wouldn't it (or couldn't) it be a violation of TOS to share your FB password with another site? Does FB now have an option like Google to export your data? I thought that was a nice touch on Google's part; I vaguely remember

Can you explain the draw of Async I/O? A single request will not be faster, but you may get more concurrent requests going due to running some while some are waiting for I/O to finish? Is that correct?

Oh, I completely agree. I've ranted about this before; I like to use old versions and be a late adopter after all the kinks get worked out. I'm just saying maybe it's more due to a (possibly negligent) misplacement of priorit

I'd guess not "ransom", but not enough resources allocated to backport fixes, along with a lack of incentive since they fixed them already in the gold standard New Version.

Thanks for the clarification. This makes a lot more sense to me now. So if Internet Service X is not ordered to take something down, but told that "[poster] was ordered to take something down", they should be allowed to ignore it.

If "platforms [were not] legally bound by them" wouldn't that pose some serious difficulty for legitimate takedown injunctions? I mean, sure it'd prevent fraudulent crap like the stuff that is going on in this article, b

Won't he get sponsored for a visa if he gets an offer? I mean, it's not a must that a company would offer sponsorship, but if they didn't I think there'd be no use in an offer. Good story about the Borland guy though.
