I could not agree more. I'm staggered I've been down voted into oblivion for actually holding an opinion. I bet the down voters aren't even Brits so they don't even understand my point of view. We suffered massively from

Well the Brits care way way more about Iraq and the Chilcot Inquiry than they do about invasions of their own privacy by their own government. What does that tell you? At least we have our priorities in order.

Firstly, burying my head in the sand implies that I would want it to go away. I don't really mind how much we snoop on terrorist hotbed countries, to be completely honest? Secondly, yes the press has been gagged for some time but it wa

I'm a Brit and I'd rather not know what our government does to maintain our national security. At least not in situations like this when knowing about it means that it undermines the ability of that asset. It's one thing for

They really need to fix the non-sensical "North" and "West" Europe naming. Amsterdam is western Europe, yes, but so is the UK and Dublin where their "North" Europe region is. A better name would be Central Euro

Don't be silly. Other than perhaps in a school playground where _any_ word said repeatedly enough can be considered abusive, boffin is not word that anyone can take offence from really.

How tragic it is that VB gets type cases, guard cases and exception filters well before C#. I guess that's why F# is starting to hit the prime time.

Quite a lot of people actually. These moves have been on the cards for years. Just waiting now for the next big move in the coming months of when they acquire Xamarin.

This describes perfectly what a Winsock reset performs and it doesn't exactly correlate with your FUD: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357 So there is no real distinction here between a Winsock reset and the eq

The fact you merely once did tech support and then moved to PHP development explains why you hold ridiculous opinions on various things. I'm sure Winsock reset _did_ solve a lot of problems, for you. But at the same time you probably j

Yes it is. No it isn't. Yes it is. No it isn't. Repetitive much? There's nothing wrong with the network stack in Windows. NT has always had a first class network stack and they keep improving it with every release, as is norm

Wait just a minute. The topic was registry corruption. Not whether the registry is a good or bad idea as a whole. All I said is that the registry corruption is a non issue. It was a slight problem on Windows 9x; but it never happened to me

None of the "problems" of which you speak are actually mainstream problems. It's perfectly possible to hose your network stack in any OS. Just don't do that and you'll be fine. USB drivers, sound drivers, printer dr

What you've just described is a proper micro service architecture. Which is basically a more minimalist and opinionated form of SOA. Nothing wrong with wanting to avoid dependencies. Good programmers try to avoid dependencies and coupl
