We should also link all the problems this created. For instance: - Ex-Valve employee describes internal politics at 'self-organizing' companies (pcgamer.com) https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=17584563

There (kind of) is another option. It is called Rescript. But to be honest will probably never take off... :( For me it has by far the best type system for a script language. It is based on Ocaml. Its syntax is easier to read than Ocaml and

Ya it’s quite a read! Glad it can help your employer! :) The dark side is you can see where his money came from so he could continue to do research in stuff he loved. It’s like if you are a dev and you get to code stuff for the army (missil

If you want the best template for a cover letter you should take example of that guy named Leonardo da Vinci. [1] Quite a smart guy! The idea is it’s not a summary of what you did and what you can do. But it’s all about what value you can o

You may end up liking it too much. :D Just a few warnings. Everybody when they start are “fighting with the borrow checker”. And some people are frustrated by it. But you have to see that it is a good thing. Because Rust is warning you abou

While wondering around the market, I come and hear and will notice that ironically the fact that this universe have “narcissism” in itself in it just proves, also maybe not that happily, that we exist regardless of being able to colonise sy

The universe is only made of matter so it is true in the sense that it exists but it is not the definition nor the root of creation of Existence itself. That’s where the “I AM” from the Bible echo even more what you say and add so much mean

Funny note, John Carmack did (does?) a little bit like you. He wrote everyday little notes about the day. You can find them on the Internet back to the very old days up to kind of recently.

I think at this point Rust has more than marketing points. Then if you have some bright people, and I mean doing what they are trying to do and feeling that RockDB is a slow database... They should be able to pick it up. I don't think

Yes I agree. Also if you know your business won't need a lot of dev, like stuff like Instagram where I think they were still at 60 engineers even after hitting 1B active users, it can also be a good thing to use a niche (but viable) la

What do you mean by pushing it to the limit? And do you have any insight of what’s it’s like to be on call with Elixir? From what I saw it has many great tools to debug problem. Also the “it never crashes” is quite appealing.
