It is. You can build parts of a car anywhere in the world. But because the cost of shipment will be so high you have to build the car in the same part of your continent if not the same country or state.

Maybe we need another number like 1.42.2? I have no idea if this can be relevant for languages.

Which is a very small percentage of people in tech. In my network Rust is still very new to unknown in some tech companies. I will say Go is more the language that emerged.

I think the author wants to say that it’s like at the opposite of frameworks like Adonisjs, Sailsjs or Rails.

Well it’s rust and actix so ya no big surprise. But take a look at es4x. It actually blows away Nodejs and many other compiled languages/web frameworks. And it’s in JS! They are in the most recent benchmark of TechEmpower.

Hello, I’m interested in an engineering position using these languages. Is going fully remote possible for engineers or is this option only for designers?

I love the idea of Cilium using BPF and XDP. They are the right tool for this type of software. And they extend it to do really cool things with it.

I was more thinking about a fullstack web framework like Django, maybe Adonisjs or Nestjs. I am not sure if Django will be less magical than Rails or not and I was curious to know what HN will recommend. Ho well my question didn't take

I am just sad that ReasonML doesn't seem to take off. I guess because of the JS interop is not as smooth. This language is even better in my opinion. Just looking at the list of its features [1] and it's syntax is so beautiful, th

I agree with what has been said but what about a book about proof? It may be something to study that will accelerate the mathematics intuition.

Agree, I will also add that technical debt != complexity. As an example everybody uses an OS to code. An OS is incredibly complex. Maybe one of the most complex piece of software. But it doesn't mean that you should care about it. With

I saw many junior devs who thought they knew so much that they almost stopped to be curious and find the truth and knowledge out there, and I saw many devs who thought they were experts and just stopped to learn anything.

Let me rephrase. Go was designed with the old best practice to share data of languages before Rust came: “you do not communicate by sharing memory, instead you share memory by communicating”. It is slower but you have to do this because Go

This is a huge selling point for Rust. If you have a project done in C++ you will need to have at least one amazing developer in your team to double check all the code to insure that nothing can go wrong. You will also preferably have a tea

I don’t understand how the org let that happen... Does someone know or have articles about it? I can believe that they left the unanimous vote and then had the good idea to invite Oracle at the table without some Power play behind it.
