Well, testing 4 == '4' is pointless in my opinion, because you should never use the '=='-type equality in JavaScript. I never use it, so I don't even know what that evaluates to. You should always use ===, and set u

I prefer: var Box = (a, b) => {}; I guess I just think that the more verbose form is more readable.

It's possible* to build a software which understands natural human language and allows for vague, abstract expressions. Sometimes communication fails, which is why different "commands" should have different risk levels and di

Why use JSON or XML instead of storing it as code? The IDE can parse it even if it's normal code. In fact, all IDEs already parse and understand the code to a degree.

JavaScript also supports non-ascii characters in variables. You can make some pretty beautiful code involving mathematics (if the formula happens to be simple enough, that is). E.g.: { C: r => 2 * π * r }

Yeah, that's working solution, when support for that is added. Assuming versioning works with these git urls.

That's a rather centralized solution. There are many companies who host their own npm/bower registries, and they won't move to Duo.js until that's possible.

Duo.js could implement duo_require for Node.js. Every "Duo.js Node.js" app would need to be bootstrapped with Node.js require, though.

Is there support for symlinking for easy development? I mean the equivalent for 'npm link' or 'bower link'. Also, can you host your own "duo registry" (if the concept makes sense here). And if so, can you point

I think experience is greatly overrated. The main reason is that languages and libraries and frameworks change so quickly in software development. How much does 10 years of experience in C++ development help in JavaScript development? It&#x

I think the compiler would give an error if the variable x is (later in the code) used in a way that's forbidden by the type.

So is the core problem that there's no decent IDE for C++ which can identify the "autocompleted" types to the developer?

▲

Why don't you use an IDE that shows you the type? I do agree that jumping into a new code base can be slightly more trickier if type inference is used, but it's a minor point compared to the benefits in my opinion. If you cherry p

How does Way.js detect changes made in JavaScript to the values? E.g. if you set a new property to the object, is it reflected in the DOM?

Someone asked for this elsewhere, it's really simple. Kinda odd that it's not in the standard, though. EDIT: It's because Maps preserve insertion order, so the standard doesn't advocate use like this. var objectToMap = x

It's easy to do with a helper function. For example, this works: var objectToMap = x => new Map(Object.keys(x).map(o => [o, x[o]]));

It's not trivial. This is 2014, not 1960. If computers should do one thing correctly, it should be to display text. As it happens, only a small subset of languages can be displayed correctly in email addresses. It's completely and

Another way to answer this question is that a programming language specification tells what the language does in the case there's no stack overflow answer for the question.

I'd guess this library clones on modification, but I was talking about cloning the object on every function call.
