I find the idea that we don’t choose how we act and behave to be strange. I’m with you that memories are inaccurate but the latter point just reads like you fully deny free will and there is not even conscious level filtering or decisions m

Is it true that this is somehow an analogue to how JS development is really ultimately targeting browser-compatible-JS in the end, even though we use the latest ECMAScript features & TypeScript in development? I.e. is it expected someon

A bunch of 4mpg 7-8 seaters align perfectly with my criticism of private jets. Actually, I don’t really understand what leads you to think there is any pressure in this space for fuel efficient development. In the space of jetliners, the ai

I am citing specific statistics for a specific and popular private jet, as these things are not well analyzed for not surprising reasons. Feel free to prove the point with statistics, semantics are definitely an aside to the point at hand

I would, as I did, call regulations forcing stupidity as a lack of meaningful regulation; but I take your point. It is even a problem of negative regulation. Small jets do indeed use jet fuel but have a terrible efficiency proposition when

Jetliners have an industry average 51mpg per passenger. Private learjets pull, at capacity, 28mpg per passenger. I’ll let you decide which one of these flies around more often at lower percentages of capacity.

Fully agreed. Personal aviation is ludicrously inefficient and still often remains outside of meaningful regulation in key ways like using leaded fuels. Poisoning the globe and locales for one person’s convenience should always be questione

But how can writings and meetings align code that doesn't yet exist? Are you a believer that during writing of documentation, you can anticipate each code challenge and solve it ahead of time?

In my opinion GraphQL is operating on an entirely different level to SQL in one meaningful way: manipulating structured data Manipulating rows in SQL is easy but doing nested joins and trying to represent one-to-many relationships correctly

Good point. For this case, it's easy to imagine - such a construct would infer the function's new return type, and then any call-sites which have a mismatch would require updating. But you raise the real question of how the compil

I like to use Hasura to give me full GraphQL access to a PostgreSQL/MSSQL database and then I can use graphql-codegen to get real, schema-based frontend types with no need for more tools than Hasura and graphql-codegen. Not sure that&#

Actually, poor people pay significantly (2 orders magnitude) more per unit water than (presumably sometimes corporate) farmers, who are often growing cash crops that make almost no impact on feeding anyone in the area. I don't disagree
