I must mention Quicksilver for OS X, which apparently was the inspiration for Gnome Do. I haven't had much of a chance to use Gnome Do since I'm a wmii user but from appearances it looks about the same. http://qsapp.com/

Looks great but how well does it run on Mobile Safari? Very interested in seeing a demo of this app that isn't just a video. Also very interested in knowing what tech they've used.

As a student and an amateur developer working for a magazine startup, my schedule is chaotic and busy. Doesn't help that I go through days and sometimes weeks of just laying in bed and watching babylon 5 DVDs. Sometimes the only thing that

I must admit, before the Steve Jobs Vs. Flash drama unfolded, I paid little attention to the performance of Flash. I know my system would kick up a bit when I visited a flash website but it wasn't terribly uncomfortable. I think myspace pag

Nothing makes my MacBook sound more like an aircraft during takeoff than a WebGL/HTML5 experiment. I like to think I have a decent computer (MacBook Pro Gen 5) but it couldn't handle this. I suspect my slow internet connection might be ano

Never got the appeal of Angry Birds until now. There goes my productivity for today. Animation is a bit jerky in Opera 11 but certainly usable.

Yes, I found this very annoying. I remember the previous OSX version was also missing this and I often got laughed at because I couldn't join a call. Apparently this was Steve Jobs fault or something along those lines.

I also use a Mac and despite all the criticism, I'm pleased with the one window interface. My biggest gripe with the OSX version is its increased memory usage. Also, one window Skype will work lovely with a tiling window manager. As it is,

Their iOS app is barely functional on my aging iPhone 3G. Skype took much too long to even update their Linux version. Sure its functional but I'd like to see it receive some attention like its Windows and Mac brothers. If Facebook does ind

I went from wmii to gnome-shell after trying Fedora 15. How does Unity compare with gnome-shell, especially with regard to performance?

I experimented with an Archbang + wmii setup on my netbook for a few months. I don't see how this app comes close to emulating that experience. I suggest a VM setup.

I experienced a few crashes after applying the update. It's a lot more stable now that I trashed the associated .plist and reinstalled.

I had high hopes for QSB. I especially loved its ability to grab menu items and use quicklook on files. Unfortunately, QSB was a major memory hog on my system when compared to Quicksilver and Alfred.

I've always liked Notational Velocity for OS X. It's minimal but functional. The latest version has some impressive todo features as described here: http://scrodlog.notational.net/notational-velocity-204

I wonder if they still package both PPC and Intel binaries together. This is usually the reason why OS X apps seem to be larger than their Windows counterparts.

Often when I hear someone talk about Android, their first argument for the platform is: "it's open". I don't see that likely to change. "Open" has become as synonymous with Android as "Apps" are with the iPhone.

My absolute favorite is cmd+shift+/ which brings up the Help Menu search box. With this I can type any menu item string and execute the item rather than having to remember each shortcut.
