I can’t recommend Waveform Lighting’s 95 CRI products highly enough! The wonderful warmth of incandescent (depending on your color temp prefs) with no wasted IR energy in the form of heat. What’s funny is that your mind will perceive it as

So, how long before Cloudflare buys Mozilla or Brave (or builds it own)? Feels like they would be a better long term home than Mozilla surviving off an annual stipend from Google.

Just curious, what’s the male:female ratio of the typical winter crew?

Yes, for the reason you describe, it would also apply to businesses. It would likely help smooth out some of the market excesses and temper some of the irrational exuberance known to occur. A lot of “investment” is done by zombie companies

On #2, the role tax deductibility of interest plays is often overlooked IMHO. The mortgage interest tax deduction (and all deductions of interest) are a massive subsidy to relatively wealthy members of society and which serves to encourage

Yes, both can be true; one would expect that to happen over time until supply meets demand. It will do to service/clerical jobs what 90s-10s globalization did to manufacturing.

Agree. Remote work during pandemic has shown companies they don’t need legions of mid- and low-tier white collar workers onshore. You can hire top tier college educated talent in the Philippines for $30K/yr. They work US hours and are

Yes, I wondered the same. What were the cultural and people problems encountered last time? Were Americans not educated/skilled enough to operate the fab? Did they not want to work the hours necessary to reach required yield thresholds

I hope this gets extended into a class about radio frequency communication. Everything here applies to all the wireless gadgets ubiquitous in our modern society, yet many haven’t the foggiest idea how antennas, carrier waves, and modulation

The lack of nuance here is troubling and commits the fallacy that birds are a homogeneous population where one bird killed by wind turbines = one bird killed by a domestic cat. From the paper's abstract: "The treatment had the lar

I, for one, would welcome an Apple attempt to create a better digital advertising paradigm focused on users and that respects/protects privacy as much as possible. As an optimistic college freshman in 2000 (dating myself, I know), I ha

As one of the authors of both the Zigbee Smart Energy Profile v1 [0] and the pre-IEEE seed that became P2030.5 Smart Energy Profile 2.0 [1], we did anticipate this and included a randomized modifier to any demand response or price signals c

Not necessarily, but is this research? It looks more like a catalog entry of peppers, which presumably has been done many times before and which is why I was hoping someone could help explain the significance of this paper/post (i.e.,

I am not able to verify the accuracy of your calculations, but for comparison, Delta circa 2018 marketed how its entire fleet (flying at a pretty high capacity factor) averaged ~44 passenger miles per gallon. I don’t know how air freight is

Setting aside the absurd notion that form isn’t following function in existing aerospace design, can anyone knowledgeable opine on the claims made here about a vulvic craft being more aerodynamic than traditional “phallic” designs?

Another potential solution I haven’t seen discussed much is limiting/eliminating the deductibility of interest. Assets tend to become inflated when interest rates are low or lots of financial leverage is used to acquire them. To counte

This is an important point to consider. The agricultural studies I’ve seen typically apply 80% compost and 20% biochar to degraded soils because biochar is alkaline. It can also be made less alkaline with better, more sophisticated producti
